Naughty America, a porn production company based out of Southern California, is building an Adobe Air-based storefront called Naughty America Direct that is basically an iTunes for porn. The app includes full-length DRM-free scenes for $1.99 each that are available in formats compatible with the iPod and iPhone, and requires no subscription. To grab an invite to the app’s ongoing private beta, go here and enter the code “techcrunch”. As if there was any doubt, this is all NSFW.
Update:The site is now open to everyone, no invite code needed.
Users of Apple’s iTunes store will be right at home with Naughty America Direct. Featured movies are shown as thumbnails on the front page, and users can navigate with a sidebar on the left side of the screen to access clips by their favorite performers or from their favorite website. Content is drawn from Naughty America’s collection of footage across sites like “Naughty Bookworms”, “Diary of a Nanny”, and “Seduced by a Cougar”.
Naughty America Express doesn’t have the recurring fees of a subscription, and while it may cost a couple of dollars, it isn’t riddled with the advertisements and popups that plague free sites (or so I’m told).

Because the app is built on Air, it will work on both Windows and Mac. Naughty America also notes that this is one of the first (if not the first) applications on Adobe’s Air platform that allows for secure credit card transactions. For an alternative method of getting your porn fix, check out Heatseek, a porn-centric browser which we covered back in 2006.

Good job guys, ‘grats on the private beta launch.
Alt-Tab is your best friend for hiding browser contents from your significant other.
WTF? TC now covering porn?
This isn’t the first time. Go back and do your research. Noob.
All it takes is a bit of smut to bring back all the old timers. Welcome back to the comment section!
I predict the TC invites will sell out < 1 hour.
No, the post is not about porn, but about a new Internet service selling porn. This service certainly isn’t for everyone but that doesn’t make it irrelevant.
wow i actually have an naughty america and brazzer pass. brazzer>naughty america.
And you are proud?
Seeing i am straight yes . why wouldn’t i be proud? errrr
troof
So, cause it uses Adobe Air, you felt it was worthy to blog about as tech related?? Nice…
Wow… That’s all I can really say. TechCrunch just lost major respect points…
So long as we haven’t lost any brownie points, I think we’ll be alright.
So you don’t care about the opinions of your readers?
Jeez, I hope not.
Why isnt Porn a valid revenue business for the readers? it is for the rest of the world, and they are using tech to make even a bigger profit. So, why WOULDN’T be here on techcrunch?
You dont like porn, dont read it. Click next. Its easy.
Porn exists. Get over it.
I’ve got an opinion too… Get over it.
Matt, you have an opinion, I have an opinion, the whole world has an opinion… really opinions are like assholes every one has them, its just you that happens to be one…
I’m an asshole for saying that this article disappoints me?
Would like to see a Loren Feldman’s commentary on this…….
Sorry, gotta add
….and Loren’s sock puppet?
Ouch, don’t know where that stuff comes from
Rule #34
Actually… it’s been done already.

Shouldn’t this be titled, “Get It and Come?”
ah good old porn with another IT approach !
awesome!
And beta code doesn’t work lol
If you pay for porn I’ve got an Alt-A mortgage for sale.
haha, people talking smack – yet all the “techcrunch” beta invites are all used up!
lol
These guys should really capitalize on their sarah palin look alike performer.
awful
Horrible impression.
What happen to TC? Is it due to slow economy?
Videobox.com is where it’s at for porn…..so i hear.
Maybe now I can do something with naughtyadvertising.com
lol – I know that woman in black, or have watched her, she’s washed up…her porn days have passed.
And with that little plug, pointing people to porn, I’m out of here. Was nice reading your feeds until now. Wish you could help promote a cleaner web.
Uh yes, a cleaner web. And who’s to judge a web’s cleanliness? You? Your very own moral code?
I guess TC can afford to lose another hypocrite reader.
hmmm nice to hear this lolz, porn industry want to catch up the technology. Naughty huh?
Why would you pay for porn? I get everything free through Heatseek.
Mac: Thanks for the plug. HeatSeek lets you download the flash flv vidoes from all the porn tube sites as well, so yeah a lot of it’s free.
Naughty America is taking a big gamble here. Not sure if it will pay off because of all the tube site competition. Also, if you think the music industry is bad with the labels, the porn industry has even more “labels”, so they may run into a licensing nightmare for their store.
Why would anyone care if the porn is on Adobe Air? This isn’t any different from other sites. Besides, I can avoid advertising simply by downloading videos and watching them with heatseek.
Wait a minute, do you mean I can use the Internet to view pornography?
[Laughs] Brilliant! Who’d have thunk it?
Actually, I don’t think you can. I typed ‘porn’ into Google and nothing came up (except this article).
and you get all those peoples’ sins!… techcrunch promoting porn as a marketing movement… heh what a brand!
Techcrunch blogs on porn? What could someone do for just a little more traffic.. These are hard times for Tc also.
Who’s paying for porn now a days?
The ninnies complaining about this post seem to be forgetting that technical innovation on the web has, historically, been driven by porn companies. There wouldn’t be nearly as many payment gateways and technologies, for instance, without them. Indeed it’s conceivable that the web itself would be a much smaller, slower affair today without the porn sector’s innovations.
They (the moaners) also seem to be missing the post’s salient point (which demonstrates the above) that this is the first Air implementation of secure payment. Given that TC’s mandate is to cover new tech, this post seems closer to its raison d’etre than any number of tired Facebook, Twitter and iPhone posts.
And not just payment tech, either. Pay Per View systems, camera angle selection on sports channels, the VHS standard, streaming video protocols, online ‘rich media’ advertising, video compression techologies, Laserdisk, CD-ROM and DVD media. All of which were first utilized in and/or heavily influenced by the adult industry.
Anyone interested in emerging technology has to keep an eye on the porn industry, since a lot of innovation actually happens there before it is adopted by everyone else. If TC chose to censor innovations from the adult industry, merely because of right-wing idealism, they’d be ignoring a lot of cutting-edge tech in fields like streaming video, P2P, mobile tech, online business models, IP management, and many more. In other words, stuff that *matters* to those of us in other, more ‘family-friendly’ industries.
It’s not about the topic. It’s about the tech.
Regardless of the content of use for the application, the application itself is impressive and worth writing about. From a business perspective, it will do extremely well because everything in the porn industry does. With so many safe sites available offering free porn in a youtube like manner, does anyone think this will be as huge of a hit as they would like?

The only problem I have with porn is that it is too easy to access. Even with all the controls, etc to block kids. It’s still just a keyword into google images away.
Not to mention just going to a tube porn site and clicking yes – I am over 18.
I think this post is relevant, but they could have left the image off. Three way Sunday doesn’t add anything to the posts point.
If they can post about porn, I can put up a link to my site.

How about you guys create an SmutCrunch site that I can promptly ignore then get back to the real business of covering legitimate technology for the masses. I come here for insight into services and ideas I care about, not to be subjected to crud.
Thanks.
Anyone have any idea what bandwidth costs are for popular porn sites that stream video?
Jeez, just ignore it. I get bored sh*tless by the Twitter stuff, so I just don’t read them. You_have_control, people.
douches.
Since the 100 techcrunch invites were eaten up so quickly we have opened NA Direct up to everyone – no invite code needed! Head over to http://nadirect.com quickly to install the app and check it out for yourself. Have fun! ;-p
Lame – where’s the gay porn Adobe AIR App?
It’s coming
@George : A lot, and that’s even little to say “A lot”
I work for an other big company, the biggest?, that put “porn” on the internet. And i totally agree with Tin Sewell, we do a lot for the web, many of our programmers are expert in heavy traffic website, tool, or streaming solution.
You would be surprise in how many big company try to hire some of our programmers because of there skill.
I’m not considering myself as a better programmer than anyone, but sure when it comes to high traffic website and streaming solution, i know my business
And for those who spit on the porn, where making web application and website like other company, and most of the people working here, we do not care if its porn on not, we take this as it comes : an opportunity to work on one of the most interesting thing on the internet, heavy traffic website.
Think about it, what was one of the first things you did when you first got your broadband connection? I thought to myself “Yes, now I can surf for porn!” I mean compared to a 56k modem. Shoot. I was looking for porn on my 14,400 baud modem on TAG BBS systems.
http://photos.b...special=preview <– first screen scraper for porn, with a social function to it allowing users to participate. This is 2002 folks.
http://chat.boobdex.com <– flash video, two way chat, camera control.
Why shouldn’t TC cover porn-related start ups? Porn was the first viable business online. The first mass market credit card transactions online were porn related, long before music or games, or Amazon and ebay.
Exactly. Very relevant in my opinion in regards to tech related news. Porn is a huge revenue generator on the net and will continue to be. If you do not like it, don’t look at it. Simple…
