This is quite clever. I’m having Dikran (assistant) set it up so that my Facebook friends get proxied to my Flickr friends, and my Twitter contacts to the people on Pownce. They are all chatting with each other, and we can watch them just like the little ants in an ant farm.

Instead of adding supported sites, why not add features to the current set. Filtering is what is needed and STAT. Who the eff are these people making product decisions? Whoever you are, you suck. Try something different, dont just copy twhirl.

disclosure ?? – didn’t howard baines also design the techcrunch website ? (they mention techcrunch being their client on their consulting blog) – perhaps why they get so much PR for their average me-too apps before the features have even launched ?

that would be EXTREMELY useful as all of my sites in my toolbar seem to be social bookmarking sites and I need a universal site to check all my updates at once. i just want it to be easier than the initial attempts of that kind of site

Excellent.

It’s these easy to use desktops that have the ability to make a tremendous network effect outside of geek/tech circles and into the mainstream.

They’re a great way to bring new users that would have otherwise misunderstood the service of a stand alone social network. I never used twitter until I started using digsby to manage my IM clients. Once I realized how easy twitter can be used a communication tool through a desktop app – I started using it like crazy.
