I’m in shock that Dell have actually thought this was a good idea. Jeez.

I’d rather buy the DVD itself than pay $20 extra for it on a laptop, to then have the hassle of burning it off (once only) onto a blank dvd. Shit, I could download it off the net and burn it if I wanted a crappy-looking disc.

What a joke. Someone’s getting desperate at Dell.

The movies don’t do it for me. I would rather they give me options as to what software I do not want loaded on a machine. It is wrong for me to buy a machine that has advertising on it like AOL, Vonage, etc.

I know Apple tried this with U2 and I’m not sure if that promo specifically increased sales or not. I can’t imagine this really persuading anyone to use buy a Dell. I could see this as more of a benefit for the iPhone or iTouch, but a computer? What benefit will someone have with this? It seems like a wasted gimmick by Dell.
