ok, a few mods.

1) Should have Golden West vs Wachovia, with Golden West winning
2) Make it a double elimination (or triple even) for Wachovia - bring them back - but somehow you've got to work in Shitty-bank/Wells...hmmm

For those of you that think it's obscene and can't see the humor in it - stop being the miserable troll that you are.

I think Barclays has potential. With their tremendous backcourt duo of the Lehman twins, they should be able to make it to the Elite 8 at least. But I don't think they can go all the way... how are they going to get past the US Congress, with their bipartisan zone defense and sharpshooters knocking down 700billion-pointers from long range?

My pick: Goldman/Berkshire (I consider them the same team) FTW!

This is brilliant, especially the inclusion of the foreign players. Though for full inclusion, the Asian markets and the Russian market would I guess have to come in as completely different sides, with Asia possibly matched up against the eventual victor in the center, and Russia losing no matter what happens because of the ongoing economizing on gas.

My question is, where does the American public fit in? Are they taking a bye on the entire contest, do they lose no matter what, or do we view them as the "owners" of the political players, since right now the scramble seems to be to appeal to them and keep them on one's side, if one is an elected official?

In which case, to extend the metaphor:
Bush & Paulson have to be seen as the lackluster coaching staff, who are being allowed to play out until retirement in January rather than be fired.
The members of Congress are playing their hearts now, because they don't want to be traded. (Although if they *are* traded, they'll likely join the financial sector for much greater benefits and salary.)
