Goodby did an excellent job with the Youtube component of the marketing/promotion for the brand. Fi (formerly Fantasy Interactive) was responsible for the microsite – http://www.wari...landshakeit.com

We have worked with Goodby in the past for Nintendo related projects (the video shoots for Wii Fit, which helped Fi design and develop http://www.wiifit.com), and they are consummate professionals. There are numerous ways interactive firms and advertising/branding agencies, such as Goodby and Fi, can collaborate to maximize the impact of the digital space.

It is pretty amazing. The downside is that the related videos are fake and the overall interface is fake. You can’t comment on it, favorite it, or anything like that. HOWEVER, you can actually click and drag and destroy the page yourself after Wario creates his havoc.

Like Raza, I wan’t some insight into tools/techniques they used to create this. I have been looking for a way to enable this kind of capability in normal web pages similar to the way PHUN works. Websites could be so much cooler if they respond more types of stimulus like sound, camera, mouse, keyboard, and more. I would love to integrate tech like this as I create a fun online educational system for k-12 and then beyond.

Why would everyone need or want to do this? It’s a very creative approach that is applicable to pretty much only this game. It’s pretty rare that a viral campaign is creative enough that its news worthy, but I think most non-trolls would agree that this fits the bill.

would be nice if everyone could do this, but they can’t. Wii got a specialized youtube URL and mocked the whole page as a flash app. Except for Flash expertise, the only thing one needs to do this is YouTube letting you upload your own web page to their site.

Why is this news worth my reading techcrunch?
