Cramster on Thursday announced that it has raised $3 million in a Series A funding round, which was led by Shai Reshef, an online education industry veteran. Reshef has also been appointed Chairman to help steer the company in the right direction.
Cramster is a global study community that helps students across the globe understand math, science, and engineering. Students can share notes on the site, review practice exams, and walk each other through homework problems while using the service. The site is populated by college students, high school students, educators, and those that are knowledgeable on the subjects to help students.
The company said it will use the funding to expand its operation and bring more users into the fold.

Can this not be built on something like Ning?
sounds like the best idea ever
do they charge their users for some extras? pure ad based business are more risky if there is a recession.
Sounds like a great place to cheat!
I think that depends on how we use it. I have used it to get my doubts cleared and it helped me a lot. what do you say ?
should just be called “cheatster”, duh
You can’t get A+ without cheating now can you? j/k
in the past, it was me and my books
Robert Angarita did a great job bootstrapping this company to raise a round!
I’ve used this site a few times during math classes, and i must say it is quite usefull.
looks good! Going to be a massive area in the future. Does anybody know who they raised the Series A funding from, interested to find out which VCs want to invest in the the e-learning area. Anybody know?
I’ve just posted a short article about this on Classroom 2.0’s blog: http://blog.classroom20.com
i can’t believe what i saw, bad and useless website rise money, good and useful website cut cost… funny right
For $40/year you get solutions to almost all problems in almost all textbooks used in almost all universities…..now, I don’t think that is such a good idea….especially during these times when our students consistently score lower than most other countries’.
I think Sarah Palin just joined
Kudos to Rob and the crew. It’s awesome to see people take innovative approaches to education!!
American kids need all the help they can get. They are by far the dumbest people on earth. USA becoming a 3rd world country fast.
Are US students allowed to learn about evolution yet or are they still in the dark ages?
Awesome idea, congratulations. Wish I’d had it when I was failing comp sci. Shall blog it.
Im actually a college student who uses the website and I have to say that it’s really useful, especially when you have horrible professors. I mean you can look to see if you did the hw correctly or if you didn’t you can see where you messed up.
This is a pretty old site. Cramster has been around for a while now.
oh man this is a great idea, useful idea i should say.

this site was made to help students, BY students. when the owners got the idea and started it, it was because they needed help while they were still in college. Since the idea made sense they went with it and did what they could to help others!
For those who think its a big cheat site: a person who is willing to cheat with cheat if the site exists or not. Textbooks often have answers in back anyway, this site offers the same information, BUT also explains how its all done, correctly.
i <3 cramster
Great site! This company has got to be on the right path with Robert Angarita leading the way!
It’s about the intention in the brain of a student
So long I took help of the website, it only helped me clear the concepts of my subject more than my classrooms lessons did.
$3 million is Really Huge Amount….
