If you are a developer of applications, I believe focus on developing for Android is the best route to take right now. I think the Tmobile G1 phone is well worth it. Check out what I had to say about it at http://www.scottconlon.com

This is something thats a little odd, why Tmobile decided to lock the phone to not be used as a modem, So many people are going to want this feature considering the speed and the data cap being raised to 10gb a month(overkill for most users). I have a feeling that it wont stay that way and it may have more to do with the infancy of the 3g network Tmobile is still working to get nationwide. Then again why would you need it as a modem considering its basically everything you will need that a laptop would give you, well almost.

The T-Mobile G1 is an awesome device, not perfect of course, but maybe the best that has been unveiled yet by T-Mobile. The device is available to existing customers online for $179... I have about 8 months left in my contract, and needless to say I already ordered mine. A phone is a phone, but only T-Mobile has the G1! God Bless!

I liked the iPhone but i just could not buy it because WAS and with 3G version is STILL missing features that I need
Now G1 is still missing the video call camera in the front but, with : Copy/Paste, 3G, Compas, Open OS, Expansion memory slot, Custom Everything and a lot more comming , I have to buy It
T-Mobile internet is not that bad; I have T-zones for witch i pay $5.99/MO but because I have a nokia N73 unlocked , I use full internet, google maps ,weather gadgets, Skype and the internet ( Just T-Zones-$5.99) moves pretty fast.
If they will come with 3G I think will be enough
