thank god. not having Nike+ on the iPhone was a massive fail. Nike & Apple totally made space for this product to be successful.

The iPhone has an accelerometer inside too, it would be very cool if they could use it as a pedometer directly (an idea I have been playing around with for a while).

Using the iPhone as a pedometer could provide useful information about step rate, and when fused with the distance from GPS could be used to derive stride length.

Well, the Nike+iPod is not exactly a pedometer… it has an accelerometer inside. Anyway, for those who have a Nike+iPod and who want to compare their workouts, you can try the open source tool Running Tracker (http://runningt...r.tuxfamily.org). It displays graphics that are more detailed than those from Nike+.

Must be a slow new days for the boys and girls at TechCrunch — I feel like you can tell a plug over a story when they leave out the negatives.

Definitely would not call this app unique; there were at least half a dozen apps with this same functionality when the app store opened its door.

Does this need to be running while you are? Apps generally don’t function in the background. If so I guess you get your music running first and then hit this app. What happens when the phone goes to sleep though?

Im just so impressed with the technology these days.
Everything nowadays have an “all-in-one” solution.
Phone + GPS is now quite common nowadays.
I wonder what more is there to come!
