Hi. I'm a PC 2. Thought those ads were brilliant even though a bit late. The ads position PC as a lovable alternative for the way to far fashionable and cool Mac position.

If you were in Brazil, like me, you would see a different set of results due to localization of the PageRank and popularity of traffic. But Apple's still have the first spot (the second is a popular Brazilian blogger who writes about advertisement)

The must have for xmas 2008 is a "leather giraffe"

After the initial roll out of the commercial there was a sponsored link for Microsoft when searching for it in Google Shopping.

http://www.google.com/products?q="leather+giraffe"

It appears to have been taken out of rotation now. :-\

This is definetly better than those Seinfeld/Gates ads but their slogan confuses me. "Life without Walls" really Microsoft? I am still confused.

If search rankings for the term "I'm a PC" was any part of the equation, then it was a brilliant move by MS. Yes, Apple did hold the top spot on that search, the key operative being "did" there. Right now, when I look, they've moved to second and third, and all of the other ten spots in that search results page are now dominated by the blog chatter about the MS ads. Including the top spot. Heck, I bet this post would show up near the top, if not in the top spot, if you included I'm a PC in the title of this post.

I happen to think it's a great strategy for Microsoft. It shows a "real" side to Microsoft and their everyday user. It presents the company the way people really are, not just the select "hipster" people who are early adopters of Mac products. I think the change of pace is nice and that they will definitely be going back to the Seinfeld/Gates commercial which I found pleasingly and different than what you normally see despite bloggers negative reviews.

In my case, the first result is a VentureBeat article about the new Microsoft ads, the second and third (indented) results are Apple's, like above, and the fourth is the actual Microsoft site for this campaign, http://imapc.lifewithoutwalls.com

It always takes a small amount of time for new sites to get ranked properly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the 4th result becomes the 1st one within a week or two.
