Really, I love Google and most of their products and I don't expect 100% up time, but their technical support is awful. E-mails aren't returned, there's no phone number, no chat. Makes me crazy when something goes wrong!

[...] Another Google Outage TechCrunch reported today about an outage for some users of Google’s Custom Search service, which lets anyone create a search engine, that TC said lasted for at least twelve hours. At last report, Google fixed the problem and apologized. But it’s still more evidence that even the company that knows more than any other about delivering reliable service to millions of people can’t promise perfect service. You gotta wonder whether the main Google site is immune from serious problems–and what sort of headlines it would make if that service ever went down for half a day.
I was alarmed when I saw this article. But somehow my site is working fine. It is very new so there are not that many users yet (I hope to change that). And the speed is not affected either.

There is another problem with Google search that showed up today. When search is limited to a specific site, for some reason Google returns results from YouTube.

> I do not think Google or any other search engines can guarantee 100% uptime
> but 12 hours is a long time

It was almost 14 hours to get a response from them. They posted this an hour and a half ago on their forums:

Hi everyone,
Sorry for my delayed response, we're looking into this now - thanks
for reporting. We suspect it's being caused by a recent change we
pushed.
- Christine

It affects people who use the cse overlay for search results.
