I've just checked their link above for supportd devices. This is really a joke. They've got like 15 devices and half of them saying "only works on certain models". There are so many great location services out there and this one actually sucks. Quite surprised to read this "announcement" about a service that doesn't even work on most Windows Mobile phones.

I'm using an Orange Windows Mobile Samsung i200 and another HTC Touch device. Still getting a Bad Request 400 error on my i200. On my HTC touch I get a result 3 tube station away.

Orange Locate me finds me spot on.
m.live.com finds me a bit closer between two tube stations.

Live Search in the UK (m.live.com) has Find My Location for ALL devices - not just Windows Mobile. Works on my Nokia too.
They've launched it six months ago already.

Btw
Google now returned Bad Request Error 400 on my Windows Mobile. I guess they've broken something. Live Search returns location with no problem.

if google could only give consumers and business a custom location on the internet. they solved 90% of search and dont have a clue about standardized keyphrase common sense vertical location.

Custom Strategic Vertical Offerings on a Master Locator Network is the Final Frontier of Search. Google will throw there algorithim and bungled results at users every time. They dont make any money organizing things. Adsense and commonsense dont mix.

"When you have a Standardized MultiChannel Natural Language Location Engine Network, you will not need Googl, there Algorithm, or there mumbo jumbo results. "

who knew...........common sense killed the cat.

Peter
Sounds like the time is near when your extra features will be offered by google making your business irrelevant. It is better to deal with reality as soon as possible, and your company hasn't a prayer.

We have a browser plug-in that supports real time GPS enabled search "inside" the mobile browser (Blackberry and Windows Mobile). You can mash out to any service that supports GPS, Zip Code, Area Code, Address or even Cell Tower ID. You can even use it for real time traffic reports.

Check out the demos at www.5o9mm.com

Cheers,
