  • thanks For The link love and For making the whole conference available for all of us! Greetings from Europe!

    • Best show yet. Good conversation when ross levinsohn was on. Someone finally banned me from the chat box. Its cool……. I have a loitering issue when I should be focusing on building “My Location Engine Empire.” if theres one thing i have reinforced about is that alot of startups dont need VC funding like they did in the past.

      MyLocator.com

    • I was about to say the same thing BORIS, but I don’t think I can say it any better then you just did…

So on that note let me just say I love USTREAM.TV it just feels so amazing to feel like your there live, even though your at home watching it on a computer monitor… Priceless… I am seriously enjoying the whole show…

  • I think imindi.com is a brilliant idea. Their brand identity and user interface looks very out-dated, but this could be due to lack of funds. The lack of love towards the visual aspects of the site could be caused by their focus towards their programming.

  • Wasn’t too crazy about the mixtt.com pitch – I feel it was a bit green. The Mixtt.com seems to create some issues also, since http://www.mixxt.com and mixt.com are both social applications. They are going to have some serious “mixups” with the domain – could possibly lose tons of traffic.

  • Who screened today’s companies?

So far 2 for 2 bombs. Mixt is trying to do social networking at the group level. like an inverted facebook working from the group back to the individual. So what? Where’s the business model?

Imindi solves no problem as far as I could tell. No business. No idea of what business is. The example he used of a father wondering about safety…what father has time to do what he toured.

Hoping for something much better. I am shocked these got screened to a yes.

  • Imandi has great potential, it is pity it it is not based on A.I, otherwise I see it as a cool Google feature. Crappy 7th grade PowerPoint. Only super geeks could do such a poor visual demo. The panelist were all hiding the truth. They do not know shiit :)

  • We have launched http://www.idntiti.com into private-beta yesterday.

I request you TC readers to help us get some feedback. We are a community rating tool that builds equivalent of Credit Score for People, Companies & Products based on our Community’s impression about them. Come build your Identity & Reputation – as perceived by your community.

You need to register yourself once you get to the homepage.

While in the site, Search & Rate the companies that are launched at TC50.

    Thanks,
    SU

You are not what you think you are. You are what they say you are!

  • PEPEGO is really cool. However really should be a social app for facebook and all other social networks. as a stand alone site it will go no where except the web2.0 user geek group. I agree with the clueless panelist.

  • I am enjoying every frame here! Thanks TC!

  • PEPEGO is Twitter, Friendfeed , and Facebook live feed on the CLEAR. The juice they use to use from BALCO labs. How ill they create barriers of entry while trying to get mass user uptake much less demonstrate a revenue model?

  • PersonalIRA, that’s the name yes. Cool. It will simple be copied. then what? OK let me hear him out? How did half these people get into TechCrunch50? Are you saying that the world is that stupid? That after you selected the best that is all they had to offer? Crap I was expecting the very least 6 out of 10 to be brilliant.

Oh well, it serves as an excellent way for companies to get FREE, FREE, FREE new ideas that their legal team can make circles around.

  • WTF, that’s it from the dude?

  • PersonalIRA – where is the domain? I click on it and nothing..wtf?

  • EMERGE INVEST sounds super cool so far. this guy is cool.

  • sounds so confident, cool, calm, and collective. Ihope he has the real deal.

  • I will take a gamble. Emerge Invest is a winner. A service, with a excellent user interface. It reminds me of a FOREX platform but for stocks in companies in emerging markets. EXCELLENT.

  • Hi guys! Try this “webset” of sites live – covering Techcrunch50:
    http://tinyurl.com/5v9wum

  • BRAVO, BRAVO. I hope I did not fool myself.

  • yeh, yeh, yeh, it seems I picked a winner. It is simple user interface that can be replicated over time. So flip it quickly dude. Forget the legacy model. Just make a few hundred mil and split.

  • ExcahngeP , how does that work out with YouNoodle start up valuation predictor?

  • Here is the map of TC50 Companies:
    http://umapper....s/view/id/7681/

We were able to find most of them but some are still in the stealth mode.

  • Emerge Invest is the winner so far.

  • me-trics, hmm. health. huge market. what is the rev model? Free or pay per use. Free = millions of users. Freeloaders. Collect private data and sell it while it is still not illegal. OK, a few major med and pharmaceuticals provide ads.

Taken into consideration its statical feed that rules our a large section of the population. Thus DATA centric user site is niche market. Maybe even a fad. Lets see what he will end with.

  • The whole community/sharing session was a big disaster. There are too many options today for sharing, with too many big names that have already brought the concept to the mainstream. Little differentations here and there to make a company in this space ‘diffent’ makes you so vulnerable to be laughable as we saw with a couple of these guys who pitched this morning.

If you want to stay updated on this conference, i suggest pointing to tinycrunch. they are updating every few hours on new companies in bullet format.

  • CRAP. These jokers have a billion dollar product. But is too dependent on cross platform. Imagine Bally health club a user of their machines plug in their I.D chip, exercises and the data is transported real time to an output.

Dam it translates to a Virtual health report. Crap who need’s doctors after this. One could see statistically where one is going up or down. Wow.

Riding your bike, data transmitted after stored or live feed. Driving your car in traffic, and on and on. Wow even sex. Can you imagine a dip in the output from a female partner after she inputted her sexual satisfaction?

It would be hard to get a wireless connection in the vagina, on the nipples so it would have to be manual. :)

These guys got a awesome product or a product with awesome potential with huge revenue potential.

The clueless panelist made some very interesting points. I agree with the clueless panelist.

  • OK, my top pics. Dam more rap music. Why not reggae? or Dancehall?

    1. Me-trics
    2. iCharts
    3. Emerge Invest
    4. Imandi
    5. Popego

Then again I only saw these , so they rank in that order of value to me, from best future, short term and long term and most cross platform applicable for social network (Popego).

  • I’m impressed with several of the technologies, though as many judges have noted the business models are often unclear if they are even part of the plan. Maybe you need a “BusinessCrunch” conference or section where the key screen is a viable business model.

    • “BusinessCrunch” … Nice. Great idea. We need something like this that can showcase financially successful companies for others to learn and emulate from.

Otherwise, we keep focusing on kids with “cool” ideas but no biz plan. It has destroyed the entire ecosystem from start-up to VC’s and exits.

  • Wait is Birdpost – the social networking site for birdwatchers – a joke?

  • Pretty impressive – thus far this site has managed to crash all three of my browsers (Opera, FF3, IE7). Anyone else having this problem?

  • The guy asking questions to VCs is painful to watch. He seems nervous and doesn’t ask pointed questions…

  • OK, who are these talking heads? Sure they are saying all the right things. All I want to know is where are your contacts and show me the dam money.

Dude, all it takes is really 3-7 slides. But then you brain would have to be so open you may miss it.

Good listener is correct. But who wants to listen to idiotic VCs who just don’t get it?

I like the aspect of innovation, thus it is not a simple as a knock off but an improvement.

Yeah, advice to VCs. Go for it.

  • Dam right. Less on you VCs can add value to us. Velocity is key. Who cares about your BS.

  • Marriages is a form of Prostitution asshole. KARL MARX. No shit get out and know the creators. Dumb pricks. Ahh, Spielberg (sp) do not give a shit who gives him the money. (Its the analogy from a creative net perspective. It is not a script that needs directing). The net direct itself.

  • OK what’s Ross firm. Movie star looks. I bet the ladies are going ape shit. Looks and money. mixtt.com should approach this dude.

  • WTF Ross. Dude short term flip 3-4 years is the future. If you think there will ever be another Yahoo or Google legacy model you are a Joke.

  • Not until another 10 -15 years at least

  • A quick no or a quick I do not know = conflicts of interest. No one wants to knock the clearly visible winning horse off the track or go up against it as they lack the support.

  • True. Info to VC firms to make good data for their own use from entrepreneurs who submit them. So a quick no. Can you imagine the 1,000s of ideas that flow to theses clowns and they probably use it for a more sure company? Dam.

To imagine one dude had the nerve to say info does not leak. Give me a break dude.

It is a good thing cost to build is so much lower. As if one had to wait on approval from these mortal GODS one would get nowhere really fast.

YCombinator and others is the future. Build, then let them come begging.

  • Ustreaming this was the best idea of which TC employee? I want to say, “THANK YOU!”

  • The Japanese have left the building.

  • Thanks TechCrunch, I’m a believer in the open approach. Advertising and sponsorship and open broadcast and no taxation of entrepreneurs = great job.

  • “Join Us” , ” Imagine”.

I think the Japanese stumped the panelist except one dude. Most think it is a stunt. No such technology exist. What if it does?

If it does it really is not that great. Why replace gaining info and storing it in your brain before you go shopping?

Who would go to a store and be clueless? and then need a iPhone with an app to lead them like a blind man?

So they have GPS tagging for anyhting in the city with info on it. They have OCT 8, 2008 date on their video. So what?

I see the same app more so in cars and for travelers. GPS and tagging on the CLEAR.

  • If not GPS, some form of tracking or data base with info. End result is what the user sees.

  • Fitbit + Me-Trics = billions

  • Thank you for making this live! Wish my iphone played Flash so I could stay on all day.

  • The Japanese Blew Techcrunch mind with their beyond reality demo. For geeks it is the ultimate orgasm. Thank god I am not a geek.

  • The Ustream is amazing…Well done guys. Great choice for this aspect of conference. Brilliant.

  • TechCrunch + Ustream + The Japanese Crew = My Best Day at Work

  • ExchangeP is a retarded idea. Let me trade fake currency in startup companies on the basis of no information (oh wait, we have an address and a url). Trading is based on hype they get and traders’ “educated” opinion in the hopes of winning prizes (pizzeria uno’s gift certificates anyone?). Tesla is valued at $900 million. Right right.

Except for unemployed TechCrunch readers, who would do this? Riztarded. There is no value in the information this platform provides and no revenue model I can glean from this nor is this solving any problem of any kind. Do they think bankers or VCs will want this information? Keep dreaming guys. For those who might say, it taps into the wisdom of crowds, please take your buzzwords elsewhere. It’s a good book, but the crowd or herd is often stupid – like the idea behind ExchangeP.

I’m shocked that something this lame made the top 50. I’m not sure if Bird Post is real or if Ashton is punking us cuz that is a strange one. But at least there is some group of people out there who are really really into that and who might use the service and pay for it.

On a positive note, the event has been pretty great. Nice job TC.

  • Want more info on the guys presenting now. What was there name? Pressbox? Postbox? Missed that part.
