University Research Program for Google Translate” http://research...late/terms.html which we are not using.

Where are those terms located? I have read through http://code.goo...uage/terms.html which is the API we are using and as far as I can gather what we are doing is perfectly within the TOS. I would be grateful if you could point me to the terms which contain the text you mentioned.

Mike, correct me if I’m wrong but your also in violation of Google’s AUP for translate API.

‘3.1 You may use the API and may use and reproduce the Results for academic research purposes only and in accordance with the Terms and any applicable guidelines provided to you by Google. You may not use the API or the Results for, as the basis of, or in connection with any commercial use, application, or development. You may not use, distribute or otherwise make available your Application for any commercial purpose.’

So I’m not sure how you can even compare this to AlfaBetic offerings.

Sounds pretty similar to our service http://mloovi.com, although we use Google Translate but it does mean that we can support 24 language pairs and also translating between different languages. Our current most popular feed is Japanese to Korean. The translations may not be as accurate as Alfabetics (although that remains to be seen) but we have a much bigger market as far as I can see it. It sounds like Alfabetics model is going to prove pretty expensive (to them) I just hope that the ads bring in enough revenue for them. Good luck guys
