omg Ryan. how do you know why google did it? i think it's a bug and not a feature. valid point for Get Facts Straight. google just trying to emulate itself as mozilla because no developer wants to write to a 4th browser.

and btw some people like to right with typos and are too lazy to turn on the Firefox spellechecker. TC editors like Erick are a good example for such people. Anyway the spellcheck can't fix mistakes like people writing "right" instead of "write" so what good is it anyway?

chrome is just one big PR project which will end up like everthing google is creating lately. lots of noise in the valley, only geeks use it, they will kill some 100 startups with real innovation and make some more money into their ad business. nothing new, no real innovation, just lots of geek noise.

Josh, we must think alike — I swear I said something soooo similar weeks ago! ;D Great to see you also enjoy vertical tabs, and I hope Chrome will have them too.

Andrew, my Firefox regularly uses 300-400 MB, sometimes climbing up to 700 MB if I have a lot of Flash media (e.g., YouTube videos) open. I was hoping RAM usage would be lower with Firefox 3 and I've seen some improvements (likely due to fixed memleaks), but still could use improvement.

Please try to use a little more brains before starting your rant.
Google did it probably to prevent websites particular about browser types don't go bonkers with a "Browser not supported" error.

You might want to use that spellchecker feature in Firefox too before you post your comment. Too bad they don't have one for grammar.

+1 to I wont switch before I have Adblock

the beta browser does not even have a cache disk management!

Best of all, see how it identifies itself!
"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/0.2.149.27 Safari/525."

It is trying to portray that it is a Mozilla browser, it is also a Gecko (Firefox) and at the same time it is a Safari

LAME move Google, why cant you just identify yourself as "Google Chrome Beta 0.2.149.27 (1583) Mozilla Compatible"

WHY do you have to pretend that you are all that what you are actually NOT?

First of, While whole of blog sphere is covering this event like crazy. Generating a lot of hype for such metecore browser!

Secondly, get your facts streight.
You can now download Chrome (just under half a megabyte; Windows only) from here.

For all the crap you guys give it (Being just another browser, just being hype, not running this or that) you might want to realize that it has been said on their blog that this was a beta app. If you compare it to a lot of Web Start Ups that are in Beta, Chrome is like the Angels singing, bright light shining super app. It does what it needs to do extremely well. I think its very responsive and quick, unlike Firefox which took about 10-30 seconds to boot. It has far less Chrome (no pun intended), which makes it a very pleasurable browsing experience. Firefox has crashed many many times for me, so if this saves me from crashing a bunch, Hooray! It might not be everything yet, but then again, its a beta app
