I do not understand where is the Openness in Apples App store decision, the shit that Apple is doing with maintaining strict control on what comes and what goes out to Iphone shall be only via Apple App store is SAME as what Telco did with close walled garden approach.

I am not promoting Google Android or Android App store but atleast Google the copy cat is more open to allow people like us who develop applications for different mobile OS/terminals to be part of the echo system without TOO MUCH control.

This is also a proof that 3rd party Apps is a sustainable business and reality now for mobile applications and games developers.

Apple's App Store (or marketplace, whatever) works because there is already a large user base who utilize the actual platform (iPhone and iPod Touch).
Google has no platform and no real user base. But hey it's Google, so I'm sure it'll stay in BETA for about 10 years anyway, so who really cares?

[...] Android to Get Its Own App Market, TechCrunch. This was one of the biggest tech announcements of the day, and people have been clamoring to call Android an iPhone copycat. The fact of the matter is, mobile app markets have been around for some time - the iPhone App Store is nothing new.
