Study: Blogs Love Obama, News Sites Love McCain. But McCain Is Catching Up By Going Negative.
by Erick Schonfeld on August 26, 2008

Who is doing a better job of getting his message across on the Web: John McCain or Barack Obama? Conventional wisdom says that it is Obama, whose performance on the Web has been strong since the beginning. And conventional wisdom is still correct when it comes to blogs and social networks. But a new study by Attributor that is being released today shows that McCain is actually leading on mainstream news sites and catching up on blogs, especially as he and his supporters have been increasing their attacks on Obama.

Attributor captured the candidates’ official speeches and position statements from the campaign sites, www.johnmccain.com and www.barackobama.com, and then scoured more than 25 billion pages on the Web to see where those words reappeared. In general, Obama’s message continues to resonate more overall, but just barely. Attributor estimates that Obama’s message was picked up on Websites that drew 38 million pageviews over the past two weeks, compared to 36 million pageviews for Websites that picked up McCain’s message. This represents a 10 percent surge by McCain.

In general blogs still favor Obama by about two to one, but the opposite is true for traditional news sites. McCain’s speeches and position statements appear on traditional news sites 80 percent more often than Obama’s. And on the sites of the major TV networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox), McCain has a 3 to 1 advantage. (This ratio should come down with the Democratic convention this week).

What is behind McCain’s surge? One factor is negative attacks on Obama, such as the Paris Hilton ad or John Corsi’s propaganda book. Over the past two weeks there have been twice as many attacks on Obama’s positions than on McCain’s, and those attacks were seen 2.8 million times so far in August versus 1.1 million views for attacks on McCain. (Attributor’s technology can identify negative or positive words). And it is not just the traditional news media that is eating up the attacks. Bloggers love them too. As the attacks have increased, so have blog matches citing McCain’s positions. In the past week, 350 new bloggers wrote about McCain’s views, marking the first time that McCain gained more new blog coverage than Obama (who picked up about 250 new bloggers). Going negative works.

A deeper dive into the data confirms another obvious conclusion: Obama has better speech writers than McCain. Two thirds of the Obama citations across the Web come from his speeches as opposed to his issue papers and position statements. For McCain, 55 percent of his messaging being picked up elsewhere comes from his position statements.

The single topic for each candidate that resonated the most across the Web over the past two weeks was the economy, which for Obama overtook Iraq as a hot-button issue for the first time. The most popular speeches for each candidate was McCain’s Energy Security speech, and Obama’s Berlin speech (which has gone viral and has been viewed more than an estimated two million times).

  • I love Obama… but I guess that it is because I am a blogger, right?

    • I love Obama too and I’m a blogger. And damn proud of both ! :-)

OBAMARAMA baby. I’m surprised by the news sites though, I always get a pro-Obama vibe, but maybe that’s because I’m looking at it how I want it to be.

    • “McCain went negative”

      Huh?

Gosh, wasn’t it the junior senator from Illinois who starting preaching that hysterical rant to his audiences about the ‘precise number properties McCain and his wife own’?

What is this, revisionist history? Defeated.

That now aside, why don’t we instead have a little chat about all these “new taxes” Obama wants. Wed red state folks argue people already pay enough in taxes, and the government out to be lead by the man who can do a better job with the money that is already taken.

Maybe us red state folk are nuts? Gosh

    • Here ya go- all you silly Osama ….oops…I keep doing that…..”Obama” blog lovers:

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket,
citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.
Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as
many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this – the ‘health problem’ cited in those articles was aneurysm.
Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings. However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand
      manipulation that it is.

  • Hillary Clinton needs to go negative in a big way tonight against McCain. She has to make Biden look like a puppy when it comes to attack dogs. She has a lot of work to do in one speech. Get her people in line through a direct plea, shoot down McCains ads, and finally show that she is 100% behind Obama and why.

    • yeah I find it funny, McCain slammed Clinton in all of the debates. Calling her a moron and the worst thing to happen to this country, yet some of her “supporters” think he is their answer.

The problem is that those people don’t do the research. i.e. you know the commercial McCain is running “I’m a democrat, and a Clinton supporter but I’ll vote for McCain”, well she was asked in a conference why is she supporting him when he doesn’t agree with her on all issues, and she basically said “well at least he agrees with me on being pro-choice”, which he ain’t

  • Is it considered ‘negative’ to just replay speeches, I mean are ‘The One’ ads considered negative? Obama’s pretty much the only one speaking in those, talking about epiphanies, stopping the rise of the oceans, and other nonsense. Is it negative to point that out?

Also is it negative against Obama to laugh at ‘American Prayer’?
    http://www.yout...h?v=s6BLKV7L8OU

Being ripe for mockery is half the ‘negative’ battle.

  • Outstanding analytical reporting and presentation.

    1. politics makes hot conversation.
    2. Obama dominates younger voters – which correlates with bloggers. McCain appeals to older voters – which correlates with news readers.
    3. web users focused on the issues – which speaks volumes for the future of democracy. rather than old versus young, black versus white, male versus female – decisions should focus on the issues.

    Great stuff.

  • It’s a sad commentary, that they are forcing Obama to go negative when in reality it should be about the issues.

  • Got my “Obama Energy Plan” tire pressure gauge in the mail today. Thanks, McCain!

  • Going negative works? Could it be the recent debate in which Obama fumbled answers in a live forum and couldn’t just read a speech? The guy is all hat and no cattle.

    • agreed, he looked awful in the Rick Warren debate, which many Americans watched.

    • I actually though Obama did much better in the forum than people say. I understand all of the criticism, but that mostly comes from people that can’t follow a well thought out and reasoned answer to complex questions. McCain’s “Yes, Yes, No” answers don’t impress me in the least bit, especially as someone who has seen such blind ideology tear down this nation of the past 8 years.

    • This Huckabee supporter was/is a sore loser I reckon.

      • I never supported Huckabee. The part that seemed particularly biased was calling Corsi’s book ‘propaganda.’ I realize that it fits the definition of the word, but it also carries a negative connotation.

    • Corsi’s book WAS propaganda, as you specifically point out in your reply above. It was full of lies, distortions, and falsehoods and was written (as the author has said) to defeat Obama. If that’s not “negative”, what is??

      • Care to prove it was “propaganda.’, Jake?

        Please cite your sources.

        Oh, wait…Kerry couldn’t prove Corsi’s book wasn’t true either.
In fact, he was offered $1 mil to his favorite charity to prove the Swift Boat Vets were lying.

        *crickets*

      • Using the word “propaganda” in a “news story” IS making a biased statement if left by itself. WHAT was propaganda? Some? All? One sentence?

Oh, and by the way – poor writing. The guy’s name is “Jerome R. Corsi” not “John Corsi”. …and um, his book is #1 on the NYTimes best-seller list. You really should give credit where it’s due and not be obviously one-sided in your approach.

Reporters should at least make a half-effort at appearing unbiased and fair – you know, report the facts and just the facts. Let us interpret. We’re smart enough…well, most of us.

  • Thanks for mindlessly regurgitating corporate owned mass media by completely ignoring 3rd party candidates and their online efforts…

  • not only is McCain “catching up,” he’s ahead in the Gallup daily tracking poll – and that’s even as the Democrat convention is in full-on hype mode

  • meant to say: “mass media propaganda”

  • Although unpopular on this board i have to say that Obama is losing to McCain because McCain is clearly more qualified to be president. I wouldn’t hire Obama to be CEO of a tech company and sure as hell wouldn’t vote for him to run the country having NEVER run anything in his life!

    • to jervitz: I respectfully disagree. Obama is constantly running his mouth; however, he does not make sense.
Does anyone know where he actually stands on issues such as border security, illegal immigration, health care reform [other than the empty promise of "free health care for all American children"] energy issues, foreign dependency on oil, the Iran nuclear threat, etc.???

      Matt

  • Study: Erick Schonfeld loves Obama which is evident by every post he writes. Everyone knows mainstream media is in love with Obama and has gotten him to where he is today. It sure isn’t his experience (or lack there of).

  • I see Obama ads (or MoveOn) everywhere online but McCain google ads seem to be popping up more and more, anybody know the difference in online ad spending between the two parties?

I know Obama was beating McCain in overall ad spending last month about 55 million to 35 million…but I wonder how much of that was done online?

  • Obama’s numbers are also going down because people are getting to know him more and are growing tiresome of his citizen of the world/let me (big government) help you rhetoric that offers no substance on his core beliefs. Who answers a moral or scientific question (depends on your opinion) with “That’s above my pay scale”? Every decision a President has to make is above their pay scale. Today’s liberals can learn something from JFK: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” However, this is not how liberals like Obama view the role of government anymore (leaning towards socialism vs. capitalism—thinking the liberal theme song and lyrics of John Lennon’s Imagine are realistic or should be our anthem or even our goal). Independents will not buy it. Conservatives will be motivated by it. McCain wins.

  • Libertarian Bob Barr is leading in the blogs that I read. McCain is second. Obama is universally hated. Ain’t a libertarian in site who can stomach the guy.

  • i hope obama will win despite the news sites trying their best to ignore my man the future president barack!

  • You guys don’t know politics at all. McCain is catching up because Barack Hussein Obama’s own VP candidate supports McCain and said Barack wasn’t experienced enough to be president….

    Stick to Web 2.0

  • I am extremely skeptical of any study which purports to use automated technology to study how a candidate is being perceived. It would be very difficult to build an engine accurate enough to do so–many blog posts are a mix of negatives and positives. For example, how do you parse “Obama has a strong economic policy, in contrast to the rediculousness of John McCain’s” ?

Furthermore, number of times material is pasted most certainly does _not_ indicate how well it is being received. Many far-left bloggers frequently paste in or embed videos of McCain’s speeches: just to shoot down the material and analyze it. The bottom line is, any study which depends upon computers to read emotion and opinions isn’t going to be very accurate.

That being said, I imagine the traditional news sites analysis is very correct. The media has long had a love affair with John McCain, and isn’t afraid to distribute McCain talking points.

  • @Morgante,

You’re right that it’s difficult for technology to judge perceptions or intent. Attributor wasn’t designed to do that -we’re more like a GPS for your content.

‘Going negative’ in the context of this study meant that Obama’s content appeared on one of the top 50 conservative web sites or McCain’s content appeared on one of the top 50 liberal web sites.

I was pretty dubious when we talked about analyzing this, but the results are pretty compelling: After being neck-and-neck for several weeks, negative comments on Obama outnumbered negative comments on McCain by almost 3:1.

  • No attacks are necessary in ths campaign. Who is supported by marxist radicals? Who is buddy-buddy with terrorists? Who’s property was enlarged by sweetheart deals with felon Tony Rezko?

That’s all you need to know. Obama is going to wish that his brother had room in his hut when this campaign is over.

  • It’s weird how like three weeks ago the media just realized that McCain existed. I don’t really understand that. I don’t think just ads can explain it.

  • If you try to digg something pro McCain it gets buried.

  • Another interesting site for comparing Obama’s and McCain’s speeches is Speechwars.com. Some surprising examples.

    • That’s an interesting site. I tried for the word “uh” (Obama uses it a lot) but it didn’t come up in the search which is kind of a shame, but it’s still a cool site. I also tried “friends” because McCain is always saying “my friends” XD

    • While the speechwars site is brilliantly creative, I would question its databases because McCain speaks typically in townhall type formats which are not recorded by swarms of media and where he speaks extemporaneously. Could evolve into modern version of Lexus/Nexus for the masses.

  • NO WAY!

    NO HOW!

    NO MCCANT!

  • Well http://talkstraight.org is working on leveling the playing field!

  • I’m amazed by many of these comments, I really don’t understand how anyone could support someon with no policies that why the 33% rating on policies, all of his speeches are with a teleprometer (someone else is telling him what to say) thus a 67% rating on speeches. Have you listen to a news conference with Obama, he can’t even say one single sentence without at least a half a dozen ah’s or em’s or oh’s. If he can’t think on his feet nor speak without someone else telling him what to say, why on earth would anyone think for one tenth of one second that it would even be remotely possible for Mr. Obama to be the leader of the greatest country in the world.
Folks, you really need to take your hate, anger and emotions out of the equation when thinking about who to vote for. Has George Bush made mistakes YES, has every other President made mistakes YES but hating someone who is not even running is no reason to vote for someone that has no experience, no policies and won’t answer a question straight forward without having to divert the attention by asking a question as the answer is just plain crazy.
We need to get some common sense back into this country instead of letting the guy with the deepest pocket win everytime.
Its amazing that the Democrats want to punish the rich, that funny they seem to be the ones that have the most money are spending the most, collecting the most, why would anyone want to punish themselves. It you stop and look at this policy strictly logically and unemotionally that is exactly what they are saying, I’m sorry folks but 1 + 1 does not equal 5, but that is exactly what this policy says. So who are they REALLY trying to punish, its very easy, the one’s they claim to be wanting to help but THEY keep getting richer and richer and the poor keep getting poorer and poorer. Don’t believe me look at the last 50 years and tell me I’m wrong.

  • Obama supporters keep chanting the mantra that Barack Obama
is the candidate who can unite our country … but, Obama couldn’t
even unite his own party … even after winning the nomination. And,
in reality, McCain has the history of working across the isle in congress.
Obama has brainwashed his followers into operatIing on ‘belief’, rather
than reason … just as he learned in Jeremiah Wright’s church … the power of BLIND faith.
Even his campaign solgan is based on belief, not common sense, logic,
or reason. Obama’s even got his followers publicly denouncing the importance
of experience … as if that’s the reason Bush performed poorly … when the
real reason Obama and his followers denounce experience is because
    Obama doesn’t have any.
Keep America Strong … Elect Senator John McCain in November !!

  • HELP ACT, Please. This is so true! I am trying to get Obama bloggers to stop blogging to the converted. Obama is getting slandered with no rebuttals on USA Today! It’s 10 : 1 ! So much so that folks are saying “where are the Obama supporters?”.

You comment can be one click away from 12 Million plus unique eyeballs a month!
Look for articles with less than 10 or less comments then you can be seen with the article forever!
McCain dominates on these sites too. It looks like no one supports Obama!

    Stop Blogging to the Converted!

    • His supporters are in the middle east hidding from or troops waitting for him to give the country over to thim

      • omg that is my exact thought i think that about a monthh into office oboma will hand our country over but yet if he is assasinated were screwed because iDONT LIKE JOE and if he dies we gotta freken idiot coming i am a mad republican im not rich or anything colse i just think we shouldnt share our money with people who dont need it

  • There’s nothing positive on Obama. Dung is higher.

    • Why isnt everyone just looking at Obama like thescripture tells us in MAtthew 7:15-29, What are his fruits, of love (Obamaa part of a hate church for20 years) starting with the unborn babies, who has and lives the love, Obama (NO) or Palin (DAH, isn’t it obvious)

  • Here is interesting video about obama!!!
    http://www.eyeb...spx?RsrcID=2036

  • FUCK YOU DUMB FUCK!!!!!!Pull your head out of your ASS.

  • Can any tell me what are Obama’s accomplishments that qualify him for the presidency?

  • If you want to be indebt all of your life, I would vote for Obama.

    • SORRY BUT IT WAS YOUR BUSHY BOY WHO CAUSED ALL THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE AND THE REPS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS WHO WAFFLED AND COULDN’T DO ANYTHING BRIGHT FOR THE ECONOMY. OBAMA IS JUST INHERITING THEIR DISASTERS AND DOING WHAT ALMOST ALL ECONOMISTS SAY MUCH BE DONE IN ORDER TO HAVE HAD BUSH’S BRAINS CREATE COMPLETE BANKRUPTCY OF THIS COUNTRY.

  • TERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN’T EXACTLY CORRECT.

    Obama’s Not Exactlys:
1.) Selma March Got Me Born – NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 – Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google’Obama Selma ‘ for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles a bout its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder – NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter – NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom – NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro- American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga’s follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that….and for more.
Obama’s cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia Muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians’ homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian – NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili – NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and ‘Baraka’ (from which Barack came) means ‘blessed’ in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side. While Barack Hussein Obama’s father was from Kenya , his father’s family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father’s birth certificate even states he’s Arab, not African Negro). From….and for more….go to…..
    http://www.arca...6.25%25_African
7.) I Never Practiced Islam – NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
4-3-08 Article ‘Obama was ‘quite religious in Islam http://www.wnd....mp;pageId=60559
8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian – NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as ‘one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.’ This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about wh en she says ‘Obama’s narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.’
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian – NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience – NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak the language. What did you learn except how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs – NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion – NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify – your classmates said you were just fine
13.)An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office – NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life – NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
15.) I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ‘08 – NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Voting ‘Present’ is Common In Illinois Senate – NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Misvoted – NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.
18.) I Was A Professor Of Law – NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer – NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill – NOT EXACTLY, you didn’t write it, introduce it, change it or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass – NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill – NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation – mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records – NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.

26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois – NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.
27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year – NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.
28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA – NOT EXACTLY, the Canadian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.
29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism – NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction off Israel .
30.) I Want All Votes To Count – NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.
31.) I Want Americans To Decide – NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.
32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate – NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn’t write yourself.
33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics – NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.
34.) I Don’t Take PAC Money – NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.
35.) I don’t Have Lobbysists – NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.
36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad – NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.
37.) I Have Always Been Against Iraq – NOT EXACTLY, you weren’t in office to vote against it AND you have voted to fund it every single time.
38.) I Have Always Supported Universal Health Care – NOT EXACTLY, your plan leaves us all to pay for the 15,000,000 who don’t have to buy it.
39.) My uncle liberated Auschwitz concentration camp – NOT EXACTLY, your mother had no brothers and the Russan army did the liberating.
So, who EXACTLY is this Obama guy and what is he trying to sell us?! Please get to work now…not enough of your loved ones and friends know about this fraud.

Over the last few days there has been a lot of media coverage concerning the Obama Gold Coin, which was first minted in Birmingham, England. We, (Winston, Elizabeth and Windsor) created the coin, as a piece of art and a symbol for hope and change.

Winston, Elizabeth and Windsor (WEW) were the first and original company to create and found the concept of a Barack Obama Presidential Coin. The concept was generated after hearing Barack Obama’s moving speech in Europe, which was like a breath of fresh air that came over the Atlantic and promised hope for the future.

The people of Europe felt they were able trust, empathise and communicate with Mr Obama, as a true leader of the people; for the people. As a result, (WEW) felt it necessary to honour Mr Obama due to his past and present lifetime achievements, as a man of great influence and a true leader for the people.

Some critics have stated; ‘the Democratic Party should denounce the coin’s production as inappropriate, as no coin should bear the image of a living person’. However, the people of England and mainland Europe feel that Mr Obama is exempt from this rule, as he represents a great nation, which finally deserves a great leader.

Mr Obama will never back down in the face of great difficulty or challenge but instead gives birth to an idea; the possibility that anything or anyone can rise up and achieve their ambitions – even the American dream?

WEW confirms; we are minting a normal run of unlimited (Obama Gold Coins) and also a limited edition of (500 Solid-Silver Obama Coins) both hallmarked in Birmingham, England with 20% of all sales going to a US charity.

WEW confirms, ‘yes’ it is true; a number of celebrities in the USA and UK have personally requested that we reserve a range of both Gold and Silver Obama Coins.
    WEW confirms, ‘yes’ it is true; the first public display of the Obama Gold Coin was shown at the Birmingham Arts Fair in England and was hosted by UK Fine Arts. During the show England’s number one, world-renowned artist Mr Willard Wigan MBE also submitted his endorsement for Mr Obama and his campaign stating;

‘he would like to volunteer his personal services towards the Obama campaign’.
Mr Willard Wigan’s work is described, as ‘the eighth wonder of the world’ and was reportedly sold for $22 million dollars also submitted his personal endorsement.
Thank you for taking the time to read this statement and I hope you continue to give your support…

    ————————————————————————————————————————-

The Barack Obama Presidential coin is no longer a coin or an illusion, it is a piece of art; described by those that have seen it, as Slick, Sexy, Elegant and Daring!

These are not our words but the comments of world renowned movie stars and politicians ranging from Madonna and Barbra Streisand, Tony Blair, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Barbra Berlusconi, the daughter of the Italian Prime Minister.

Most recently the Barack Obama coin was unveiled in Italy were it received an overwhelming reception; considered by most, as an iconic symbol for peace and change. This idea of peace and change gathered further momentum, as one was personally requested by a member of the Vatican who stated ‘the race is now in the hands of god’.

On a more sombre note, we have recently received a lot of negative comments and ignorant feedback with regards to why the Barack Obama coin has been created in Birmingham, England. The reason is simple; the English silversmiths are the best coin makers in the world with over 300 year’s experience. Creating coins for the Royal family and other Monarchs; we believe the President of the United States deserves to be treated with the same respect and dignity. Further more; we would also like to add that with each coin sold an America charity will benefit directly with 20% of the proceeds being donated.

To conclude, we believe the Barack Obama coin represents peace, diplomacy and prosperity for the future, which is what this world is crying out for?

Democrats Approve Obama’s Deification: “President Obama” Coins

Obama’s image, like that of Roman emperors and European monarchs, to appear on commemorative coins
    by Bill Levinson

It is illegal for the U.S. Mint to produce a coin that bears the image of a living person, and the U.S. Postal Service never puts a living person’s picture on its stamps. This taboo probably dates back to the War of Independence, when the Founding Fathers decided that the United States would never exalt an individual, no matter how prominent, in the manner of Roman emperors and European monarchs.

This law does not apply, of course, to private mints that produce commemorative (non-legal-tender) coins, and United States law does not apply to British subjects either. This does not mean that the Democratic Party has to approve the effective deification of its candidate in the manner of a king or a Roman emperor, as one British firm is doing. Windsor, Elizabeth, and Windsor is stamping commemorative coins with Obama’s face, with his jaw protruding in an appropriately heroic pose, in front of the White House.

Gold & Silver Obama Coins Go on Sale to the Public.

The Obama Coins which recently caused quite a stir due to the inscription “President of the United States” are now on sale to the public. The firm behind the coins has also responded to some of the controversy.

I notice you are making the Obama Presidential coin and I would like to offer you my personal condolences for this outrageously, repulsive idea. I also feel it necessary to warn you that this idea is a total waste of time, which will consequently ruin both you and your company financially and reputably. In a nut shell, I believe this coin belongs in the Smithsonian Institution right next to the Chicago paper that said ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’?

Obama will never become President of the United States because ‘we’ the true American ‘Christian’ people believe Obama to be both a Muslim and the antichrist. For those naïve Islamic sympathisers who disbelieve the election of Obama is a horror foretold, please see Revelation 13.

  • CUT OUT MEDIA –why is the media including CNN and all the others paying so so much airtime to the Republican same-old same-old responses to the Stimulus plan — they are a MInorITY and the public made that clear determination at the elections and have had 8 years to not ruin the econmy — and look what they did. I don’t get it — the media is not being balanced — they seem to want to always keep the most boring status quo positions possible and here comes a New Man with New Ideas and the Reps true to form do everything they can to ruin him (quoting John McCain over and over the news about “He’s not off to a good start” — as if McCain, who also said “The economy is fundamentally strong” and with such a comment showed his true colors – why would the media now give him and others such a continuous platform rather than support obama’s idea in a balanced way in which a new vision stays alive. I guess negativity and sensationalism is supposed to lure in Americans, rather than brains and clarity of vision and ability to change!
