There is a solution to all of this, move to socialGO I have been using them for 2 months and they are outstanding, all the widgets are secure and widgetlab have made a few widgets on the site and have given them to socialGO, by the way widgetlab has shutdown now they are doing bigger things.

This is going to be my minute Christmas date-book, it is hoped it will commandeer me layout Christmas and parcel with the family what I am getting the kids so their are no replicate gifts. . I truly don’t care what the issue is between Ning and Widget Laboratory! What I know is that a day before the issue between those two groups I purchased many widgets (many $$$). They became obsolete within 24 hours of purchase.

Widget Laboratory refused to refund my purchase. I could understand not refunding money for people that actually used their products/services but I never had a chance to use their product – NO FAULT BY ME. In fact, they responded ONLY once and with a form letter -saying NO to my request!

I see that they are once again peddling their wares. Use my experience as a guide be very careful and perhaps avoid this provider.

The problem with all these hosted community services, is they own the user not you. So if you ever want to grow beyond that platform, you can’t simply take your users with you because they are not your users, they are the hosted platforms users. Ning says they are open, and they do a lot of great things, but they are deceptive in that they are not open about your users…
