I came across AppVee this evening, a new site that is creating written and video reviews of iPhone apps. We continue to write about iPhone applications that we find interesting and include them in Crunchbase, but we aren’t doing the kind of in-depth, categorized reviews that AppVee is taking the time to create.
AppVee rates each application based on a variety of factors depending on the type of app. For entertainment applications, for example, apps are rated on ease of use, features, frequency of use, interface and usefulness. User ratings are also collected and placed alongside the official AppVee review.
The most useful part of the site are the overview videos, which allow you to get an idea of what the app is before you download it. If you’re an iPhone fanatic, bookmark the site, you’ll use it.
See AppStoreApps as well.

So when can we expect Techcrunch to be optimized for the iPhone ? You onl need two plug-ins and one line of code: http://thenextw...scious-plugins/
http://www.AppStoreApps.com is another great review site for iPhone Applications
enough with the iphone. really.
I found this post actually useful compared to most iPhone posts.
Basically its useful but we could have expected better posts than this in TC which micheal generally writes, this is just like a website promotion maybe!
@boris yea, its always difficult to read tc and comment on posts from the iphone. like im doing right now. but there are also several problems with a plug in like yours. tc would miss the important page impressions for their ads;)
just took a look at your plug in. there is one more problem (of course like on regular websites) for iphone readers. its not convenient to bookmark a page. the regular buttons are not very simple to use on a phone. we had a solution for that, but didnt promote it so far.
concerning the app review site: id be much more interested in “how many apps were deleted by users again”. this would be an interesting number!
techcrunch looks super cool on the iPhone as is.
as does every other website
just as i wanted to agree, safari crashed:)
seriously there is no need to adapt websites for mobile browsers. browsers and phones are going to become better and better. just waste of time
As an app developer it’s nice to see such websites pop up. Honest, balanced feedback is much appreciated. Now I am just waiting for zintin and Scribble to be reviewed.
My favorites are http://www.appleiphoneapps.com and http://www.iphonealley.com
iphoneatlas is nice too, especially on the iphone browser…
You can run a review site like this one, where users can review what you post, with WP Review Site, a WordPress plugin.
iPhoneTipz.com to showcase the ones which we buy and use :)
i am surprise apple hasnt sued them yet
toucharcade.com is a great site for iPhone game reviews.
I would also like to point out http://www.appcraver.com, which we started more in the techcrunch spirit.
Great idea — EVENTUALLY, this might be a useful site. Right now, there are not many reviews…
I wish that APPLE would fix the review and rating process in the iTunes Store — they should only allow people who have actually downloaded an App to review it
Nice website, good for people because you really know more details about the app that you are getting/possibly buying.
http://blabtech.blogspot.com
http://toucharcade.com a good one for iPhone game reviews and video
This post feels like total spam. Come on, the site you’re highlighting has a handful of useless reviews.
This website sounds like a great idea to help with choosing the right app to get. It seems like they are adding reviews quickly so I think appvee will be very useful.
The site referenced in the TC article seems to not be very well done.
They need an RSS feed of all your reviews, or integration with Disqus.
they have an rss feed…its that big orange button on the left side.
Check out http://apptism.com in the coming weeks.
It’s not a typical blog, but instead focuses on helping you find apps (nearly 2000) and app information, since it’s nearly impossible using the App Store.
Hi All,
This is Alex from AppVee.
Thanks for your comments – we have a lot of exciting things in the works and will be adding new reviews at a rapid pace.
Stayed tuned!
Thought I would share another app review site, in full disclosure my work from home hermit brother started it…he needs to get out more I think.

I work with MacApper which is the mac application review authority. We have recently begun spreading our wings in to the iPhone application arena. I think you will find our content superb and we commonly do giveaways.
why would you promote a site with such poorly written reviews. TC, your losing your touch.
what happened to appvee? takedown?
Hi guys,
Alex from AppVee here.
The site was not taken down. We are currently down for some maintenance and should be back up this week.
We have lots of exciting new features coming out and tons of reviews, so stick with us.
