The site has immediate value to small business. The ability to create a feedback machine and then post it on my site is valuable to that business and their customers AND at the same time builds the Phrazit database as it grows. Web 2.0..right?...using passive data to make it better for the rest. I'm a fan.

Nice idea. Their success/failure will depend on the implementation and the marketing budget though as the idea is not enough by itself.

I would say that they should also let people leave longer reviews with the longer reviews being shown when clicking on one of the tags (only the reviews by the people who added that tag).

I think it's a good idea to see what terms seem most common from those that have reviewed the product. But I agree with many others on this thread that a) it will only work for popular products and b) you will need access to the details behind the tag cloud should you wish to investigate further.

Retrevo.com offers a slightly different approach to getting users a quick assessment of the user reviewers collective opinion. We synthesize all the reviews from amazon, cnet, etc. and then evaluate the overall sentiment - positive, neutral or negative - and then give users quick links to read summaries from each site and then if they choose, click to the source site and read the full review.

I think it's very interesting idea, and in response to the complaints regarding the 30-character limit, I think the kind of knowledge bank composed of of brief opinion "keywords" is a different kind of resource. It cannot be compared with existing opinion presentation techniques. Sites like Phrazit are a symptom of the need for immediate and concise feedback and would prove invaluable to corporates and marketing bigwigs. GOOD STUFF!

I agree with you. If I'm actually looking for valuable input that will help me I don't think 30 words quite cuts it. I'd rather take a little more time reading in order to get as much information as I can. It's an interesting concept though for those who don't want to spend a long time reading.

This sort of thing is nothing new - I've been running TheTenWordReview.com for a couple of years now, and The Four Word Film Review has been around for a while too.

All I can say is WOW! I was wondering whether to see The Dark Night and the following reviews were particularly useful:

"coca cola"
"cuil"
"haven't seen it"
"Gay"
"katie holmes has nice boobs"
"mobile report"
"morgan stanley"
"sex and the city"

This is honestly the lease useful website I have seen in a long time. This is a BUSINESS? with FUNDING? SERIOUSLY?
