Maybe you should take the time to learn the most basic forms of computer security since it’s you who is using the machine and it’s not just your own machine you are responsible but your friends’ as well since they may not be aware and will probably click any spam that is sent through your account.

You should check in the Task Manager (if you’re on a pc) for two programs called freddy59.exe and pp11.exe. Those are processes that are installing the trojans that Avast will find for you.

I got a message like this yesterday and after downloading the file that is supposed to upgrade my Flash Player, it downloaded so fast and did not respond. My antivirus was not able to detect and and I was even considering to format my drive c. Then my friend told me to install Norton. I’m not promoting any product but it was really able to help me get rid of this annoying virus.

I downloaded the virus from Facebook from my brother who I thought sent me a video and when AVG caught the virus after I downloaded, I deleted from Virus Vault and rebooted now I can’t connect to internet explorer.

I’m not reading of that happening before to anyone on this blog and my DSL light is green but I can’t connect to internet. Any suggestions?

The reason there are no viruses for Apple is because virus writers tend to want to make a name for themselves and you can’t do that making a virus for an OS NO ONE FREAKING USES! When Apple becomes 20% of computer brands sold instead of a novelty for hippies then maybe someone will care enough about it to make a virus. In the meantime enjoy Apple’s nonexistant response to people hijacking the iPhone. One point i’d lke to make is free anti-viruses prove the adage “You get what you pay for.”.If a network security specialist went to his CIO and said “hey i’m going to use a security program that isn’t approved by any standards or tested by neutral parties for it’s ability to stop in the wild viruses and is pretty much a stripped down version of the 30$ AV you buy at wal-mart.” What would he say before beating you to death with your own shoes? I use VIPRE on my home PC as it uses very little system resources and has proven to catch a lot with few false positives (freeAVs seem to be crap on falsepositives putting out more than a redhead on prom night) but for security for business i recommend Norton which ranked #1 by AV-Test.org…until next year.

that worm managed to attack my computer even though i didn’t click on any weird links, and i didn’t allow anything to install. all of a sudden this fake anti-virus software was telling me i had the trojan. it sucks, but i might have to delete my facebook account because i can’t afford to have a slow and infected computer.

Does anybody know if this affects Macs. I saw some disagreement in olders posts. I got this last night from a friend and thought it was a joke, so I (like a moron) clicked on the link. I downloaded the flasplayer add on, but DID NOT install it. Nothing happened, the video did not play. I deleted my cookies, deleted the downloaded file and dumped my cache. I also changed my Facebook password. There doesn’t seem to be an issue with my compuer, but I’m skeptical of the whole “Macs don’t get viruses” claim. Any help would be appreciated.
