What is Cuils Agenda?
Did a search on “Global Warming”. And hoopla: on the right side widget thingy are categories for “Global Warming Skeptics” and then one for “Climatologists”. The wired thing is that the usual skeptics also appear under “Climatologists” and even Fred Singer appears as a “Climatologist” as well as even “Roy Spencer”, a figure out of the murky right wing religious corner with the “Global Warming Swindle” listed under “Action”.
The results that Cuil served up there seemed to be scripted right out of the command center of the NeoCons pr machine…
Which makes me thing: “He who controls the webs search engines controls what people know and think more than anything else!”
Perhaps there is more of an agenda behind investors in Cuil than the pure interest in technology and market share…..

With so much hype around this website, I was expecting a Google^3. I don’t think it is keeping up to the expectations. Irrelevant Search results are displayed all over the screen in unequal sizes. This is different than other popular websites, but not sure how its better.

I have to put more stress on my eyes to look for my results in unequally displayed boxes all over the screen.

Explore by Category section is not Cuil in search results area. It can be next to preferences or somewhere else.

Search result headers are in light blue color. Hard to read in a bright area. A dark color might be helpful (may be its just me).

This site needs a lot of work in all areas before becoming main stream.

May be I should check again next week to see improvements!!

googled myself, got results. cuiled myself and found albanian websites, albanian communists, albanian terrorists and kosovo soldiers. perhaps cuil needs to hire better ontologists, as well. they have $33 million to burn, after all.

you would think techcrunch with all the experience and sites they see still bite into companies PR…
- cuil is not an hour old they have been crawling the internet for months
- queries that suck now will continue to suck… if they didnt figure out result ranking till launch i’m sure it will take them time till / if they will figure out results ranking.. its not an easy task msn and y! didnt find the right ranking algos with bigger budgets
the story i would like to read is how “another search engine” managed to get such positive press and be featured in top sites regarding it’s performance
my hat off to their PR agency.
