Your connection is not suitable for trading storage.
Please enable UPnP on your router/firewall or configure it manually to forward incoming UDP connections on port 7 497 to this computer. Afterwards you might need to restart your router and/or Wuala.
==========

And after all that they call their service P2P. I have nothing against services like Wuala, but what I don't like is that they completely spoiled the term P2P to promote themselves. They don't want to bother developing a (rather complex) technology, but want to stick to the popular term. Kind of "technological SEO" I'd say.

Had anybody ever seen Skype asking to reconfigure your router and then reboot blah-blah-blah? You just install, create an account and then use it.

I was reading "IslamCrunch" (of all "crunch" knockoffs) and they asked the exact same question!

That and it could also be a good alternative to p2p, the download speed is around 450kb/s and the upload is around 100kb/s.... and, as far as i know, your ip adress doesn't appear anywhere on the network so it's much harder to find people uploading or downloading illegal stuff...

Once these type of sites become more popular they are really going to start eating away at external hard drive sale, especially if the price point is lower. Anybody have any visibility into industry sales numbers or knowledge? .... www.readtheanswer.com/index.php?RTA=web2

".....Furthermore, your computer keeps a copy (also encrypted) of all your files in its local cache......"

So if I understand correctly. Lets say I want to backup 100 gigabytes of data and my computer is on 12 hours/day. I'd need to reserve 300 GB of hard drive space (100 GB for local cache, 200 GB shared) for Wuala if I don't want to pay extra? And then what does that do to my bandwidth usage? My ISP would surely notice.

It seems that the sneak peak needs a download, although when things become less sneaky, no download will be needed.
