Allow me to generalise slightly but I think that in contrast to the US 'so called' nerds, who're heading up the plethora of Web 2.0 companies, the Europeans come a far second best when it comes to communicating the benefits of their products in front of an audience. I think the quality of some of pitches really didn't do justice to the quality of some of the ideas. I think that European start-ups need perhaps to remember, when you're building a team, you can bring together the best coders on the planet but it's worthless unless you have at least one individual who's able to get out there and sell it.
