"As a website owner whose invested YEARS into SEO to gain my top 3 place in google"

Of course you wouldn't like this feature, it completely changes the game of search where the rankings are not solely based on an impersonal computer algorithm.

Search engines today are far from optimal, but this feature brings it closer.

[...] There was lots of speculation about Google buying Digg this summer but regardless of the gossip it does appear that Google is taking a leaf out of both Digg’s and Friendfeed’s books and allowing commenting on results.
This is an interesting idea, but I don't think it's going to replace traditional search. If you want to look at search engine results like a popularity contest, then how good are your results going to be? There's too much room for abuse. How can you trust them?

I think that's why Google's results to this point are trusted. They are independently judged by Google and ranked accordingly, for better or worse.

If Google's worried about problems with SEO and invalid search results, it will be worse under a system like this. If you've got lots of friends and contacts, or money, you can move your result up.

If you trust the general public to rate the results, then you'll like this kind of system. With people already trying hard to game the system, I'm not so sure I'd trust the results.
