We’ve confirmed that Karin Gilford, Yahoo’s Vice President and General Manager of Entertainment, has resigned from the company to take up a new position with Comcast. Gilford reported to Scott Moore, VP of Content Operations, and was based in the Los Angeles office.
Gilford ran a big chunk of Yahoo’s business, including music, video, tv, movies, OMG, and entertainment. No word on her successor.
We’ve added her to the updated Yahoo Ex-Exec Tracker.

I was wondering about her. Now I know.
It seems that the bleeding still continues. Poor Yahoo! I was thinking that the public welcome of BOSS might help encourage Yahoo people a little bit.
I am surprised at how little incentive there seems to be towards STAYING with Yahoo from the executive board and management… they are really loosing some talented people who will be tough to replace.

I never knew a single company had so many executives … by the time Yahoo execs are done leaving, the world will enter into web 3.0 … look at it here.. http://www.gothamtechminute.blogspot.com
I’ll be the first to say it: She’s a cutie.
karen’s got a good rep down here in LA. that one’s gonna hurt. some smart folks at Comcast now…
the real problem is that nobody of sane mind will currently take a job at yahoo. so how do you fill these slots?
Yes,I agree with Gopher.

the darker the berry the sweeter the juice.
ya hear me fellas!
I suggest you Karin fans watch the video. It looks like someone’s been beating on her with a sledgehammer. It the words of #10, ’she tore up, from the floor up!’
Dudes — she’s a bit off the rocker… if she had her favorite medication of choice that day she’s actually pretty smart- but if not - she was as loose minded cannon as anyone. She’s a media person not a tech/web person… and if that’s your bag… Y! may not be the real place for you anyway, lot more of the non-web execs still need to hit the troad at Y! - so the real talented execs/leaders can stop having to explain how eveything really works to them… over and over and over
Before you say she’s really cute, watch the video on http://www.crunchbase.com/person/karin-gilford . Not saying that she’s not cute, but just that the tiny picture is a VERY good photo of a mildly attractive woman.
But I am more interested in her capability!
Seriously, do you people really have to live up to all the internet stereotypes? Even on a seemingly serious site, all you can come up with is a version of “wow, she’s cute”! How about you keep the sleaze to your mother’s basement (since you like to live up to internet stereotypes).
Yahoo has needed to hemorage some people for a while now because their model has been mired down in incomplete and unsuccessful projects; Karin Gilford is no exception! Yahoo TV, crap; Yahoo Movies, crap; OMG (really?… OMG the title!), crap; Yahoo Music, buffering…. buffering… buffering…. CRAP.
She seems to have been another one of those people that sailed through the economy during the delusional period of cheap money. It’s easy to do something when expectations are fast and loose.
Good riddance lady! Maybe they can find someone that can lead Yahoo to finish some projects or fix the ones they took out of beta while still a zygote.
