Tomorrow we celebrate July 4th, and a week later our long National Nightmare is over. On the 11th we deposit our 2G iPhones in the FriendFeed donation bins and officially hook ourselves up to the Enterprise iPhone. The ePhone will change how we work and play, and in the process free us from the tyranny of our jobs as consumers.
When the iPhone shipped last year, IT responded with a wave of dismissal to the shiny new platform. No keyboard, no push email, no secure deployability, and certainly no way to decommission the phone on exit from a company

Steve,
Have you had a July 3rd martini???? :-))
What are you talking about… implying…. perhaps a happy 4th? :-))
Happy 4th to you and the TC staff!
You all do a great job.
My $.02.
Best,
Curtis
Friendfeed has a donation bin?
its already independence day on the east coast
Happy Independence Day to TC and all readers.
Happy Independence Day! As for It, let them mumble and fight with theri windows enabled (or should I say disabled) hand held devices while you enjoy easily juggling a three way (conversation) with two hots chicks and without any crashes (of any form). Cheers to all Americans.

Did you change your RSS feeds? I can only view excerpts now, I don’t think that was the case before?
@7 Mr. Gillmor’s long-form writing is over on the sister blog linked; they just have excerpts cross-posted here so people still see them.
I’m just curious…
Who is writing the intro paragraph for these articles?
EG, the bit we see here, on TechCrunch.
Well i would like to wish all our american friendz a happy day to all.

Happy Independence Day to all US residents!
Just another day for me though….
This post is horrendous. He sounds pretentious with his usage of the superfluous words. Not needed to convey the story. Maybe he is compensating for something…
What’s an ePhone??
Gilmor is an incredibly poor writer. His posts are not just badly written, they are also very irritating, due his condescending, rambling tone.
Look out, Ian, I’m sure you’ll be erased, just as I and several others here have been for saying the obvious, that Gillmore can’t write.
It’s almost 9:30am PT. Let’s see how long it takes to get this deleted.
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday!
Hi Richard and friends - my comment got the boot too! Fight the power!
Happy birthday US_of_ A . Thanks for defending us the defenseless countries (New Zealand and other small Polynesian Islands) in the South Pacific during World 2 against Japanese aggression. My grand dad has long gone, but if he is here today, he would have saluted the US marines where his small Polynesian contingent from Tonga fought alongside with them in the Solomon Islands against the Japanese where the Japs already occupied. Even, we’re a small Polynesian country in the middle of nowhere in the South Pacific, we still regard the US as the great protector. In fact our leadership send small troops to Iraq recently to contribute whatever they can and a show of friendship to the US for what it has done to us in defense in the past.
Congratulations, infidels. Good luck with your energy independence.
LOL! @ #21
Happy Independence Day to everyone at TechCrunch!
Hope you enjoyed your holiday.
My blogger friend from New Zealand also wants to celebrate the USA birthday, by saying Happy July 4th! to the US and all citizens of this planet. A great piece to read.
His Quote:
To America’s founders, I salute you!
Yet again, why don;t you publish entire article here! This is bogus.
Word I love the iPhone. America Rocks
