The RSS Ticker at www.easybyte.com has got many more features and is a very lightweight application as it is just for windows, not dotNet or Java, just native.

Runs fast!

Hmm, found it last week. Can't believe I'm on top of TechCrunch on this one.

It won't replace my Google Reader any time soon, but for a peripheral ticker - it's pretty cool. I like how you can "throw" it onto the edges of the screen to make it stick to that side.

Hmmm... Have seen this thing work on Vista. Don't like it being in my face all the time and being stuck on my Mac. And what's so AIR about it? Can I access it whenever I want to and on every machine I pick? I better like the idea of iGoogle. (except that it's Google and it's sooooooo slooooow) For me it's Symbaloo. Never seen anything so simple, great graphics, web 2.0 based and no waiting time at all. TechCrunch you better check than one out!

I'm ecstatic to see Adobe AIR applications coming out. AIR will be something we'll run into daily. When the rest of the world catches up to the forefront.

Why is middle-clicking on links disabled on TechCrunch? I'm on Linux, Firefox 3... on all other sites when I middle click on a link it opens in a new window, and the same was true for TechCrunch until... well sometime in the last few days I think.

let's face it, Adobe AIR is a great platform for a lot of potential apps, but it couldn't be worse for a continuously animating app like a ticker. Check out the CPU usage for this thing and its clear it has no place being on your desktop all the time (which is what most people expect from a ticker)

Its a cool demo, but nothing more. Tickers should be native.
