UPDATE: Tickets sold out very quickly. Additional tickets will be released in the coming weeks. There is not a wait list. Stay tuned.
It’s time for my favorite event of the year – our (third) annual party/meetup at August Capital in Silcon Valley. Come join us and hundreds of other techies at August Capital’s fabulous outdoor patio on Friday, July 25, 2008, in Menlo Park, California.
Photos from last year’s event are on Flickr, and see our wrap-up posts from the first and second events as well.
We have branded sponsorship opportunities and demo stations for companies to show off their products. We love creative sponsorships—last year, sponsored margaritas, the photo wall, movie shorts and product giveaways were all a hit with attendees. If you are interested in supporting the event, please contact Jeanne Logozzo or Heather Harde. If you are a member of the press wanting to cover the event, please contact Sarah Ross.
The August Capital event is one of our most popular events attended by decision makers, the venture community and dozens of members of the media.
Since we have limited capacity for attendees, we’re asking a $10 cover charge to help manage the attendee list and minimize no-shows. We will be donating 100% of the ticket proceeds to Malaria No More, an inclusive, grassroots movement to control malaria, a preventable and treatable disease that kills more than one million people each year. $10 happens to exactly cover the cost of a single bed net that will protect a child from Malaria, by the way. Tickets are available via EventBrite.
Attendee identification will be checked at the door. Due to the strong demand for tickets, we regret tickets are not transferable and not refundable. If you use your name to purchase multiple tickets, your guests must arrive with you to check in at the door.

Free tickets please!
would love to come this year
21+?
Good question Jim… I wondering the same thing
Sold out anyway…
Sold out, already…
Mike, did you guys sold out. How do we get ticks?
Wow, this is on my birthday Mike, come on
Tickets sold out? Guess that is a different problem….
anyway i really need a ticket…
It can’t be sold out already… I thought the capacity was pretty high. More tickets, please!
That go for everyone who responded in comments here? Where were we supposed to sign up?
Was there a cap on the number of tickets one person could buy?
We were late here. Michael had it on Twitter some time before the TechCrunch post… Should have checked earlier!!!
Never mind, just this minute noticed the EventBrite link
A single person could buy 30 tickets out of the 200
Sold out at first, went back and just got a ticket……yipeeeeeee!

I wonder if Eventbrite is flaky, I just bought a ticket after reading on Twitter it’s already sold out.
Anthony, we broke Eventbrite
Wow, that’s cool Mike. You’re honoring Vasil and I on our birthday. Thanks pal…
Mike — You guys sell out almost immediately every time. How about you increase the price of the tickets? May as well since I assume yuo will still sell out and can just give that much more to charity and further screen out no shows. I say raise the price to $25 or even $50 for these events, that is still nothing and I bet most people would pay much more!!
Apparently so, it can do that now that I have a ticket.
“We will be donating 100% of the ticket proceeds to Malaria No More..”
This is why I love TechCrunch.. congrats!!!
As WiredMike mentioned, there is clearly a high demand for these tickets. It is nice to pay 10.99 to be part of something great though. I will already be spending about 100 dollars in fuel driving up from Santa Maria though and am not sure how much more I would be willing to part with though I am sure it would be worth it.
Higher prices may attract a different crowd as well, that may be part of the pricing.
Wow. The first party I am going to with no age restrictions! Thanks!
Mike: Please release more tickets.
Can’t believe it’s sold out
I’m with Anthony Q. If you make tickets $50 bucks – all of us poor start-ups will skip this event. So, WiredMike – at $50+, you’ll get an audience full of previously funded start-ups (nothing new) and a bunch of well-paid VC types, PR guys looking for work, successful bloggers, and attorneys. But you could charge difference prices for different folks!
Mike,
Same thing happened last year also, Tickets were sold out.
Please there should be some tickets for the daily TC readers. I am sure they will be sold out again.
Some help get us TC tickets. Soon they will be on eBay..
Cheers, Nag
we only put the first 200 tix on sale, i think 500 people can be there total, so don’t worry.
If i can get a ticket, i’ll be flying in from Michigan!
I agree with Nag. Its difficult to get a ticket. Some heads up would be appreciated. Keep up the great work with the blog!
I understand what you are saying SnappyBrook but I still think $50 is very reasonable..and maybe a good idea would be to release a majority of the tickets at $10.00 and maybe save 100-200 and put them up for auction a week or so before the event. I think even cash strapped, unfunded entrepreneurs would still pay more than $10.00 for the networking opportunity and experience.
Who will be speaking at the event????? You guys should have John Assaraf come speak, a mega successful entrepreneur who had the fastest IPO in history over at Bamboo.com… now he runs a Coaching and Consulting Company in SD… http://www.read...ex.php?RTA=web2
Hi Michael,
More tickets …………….. please.
Cheers,
Marc
If its sold out that stinks. I really hope they videocast it though cause ill watch that.
Don’t worry guys, sounds like more tickets are coming soon. Until then, I guess we just have to obsessively check the EventBrite site multiple times a day
Lets move this event to Seattle – lot of companies need this here …
