Reddit will make database cross-compatible with its competitors like Digg, being able to use their voting data and allowing its own to be used by others.

This is a great step forward for reddit. Maybe digg will soon follow this trend and open source their code too.

@Scott Conde Nast actually. But, if you look at all of their properties though, Reddit is an odd fit for them.

Tagging or API’s make sense too. But why setup a meeting just to announce tagging? It has to be bigger than that…
