You don't. In fact they have a history of recording everything and giving it up to governments when pressured. This happened in China. Right now VSee has one of the best encryptions. They can also do up to a 6 way call and application sharing.

A tiny bit bigger and I'm all set. Seriously, what are they thinking, just because I can have a 24" monitor doesn't mean I want skype to take the entire screen resolution.

Keep it simple and small, I used to use ICQ back when it was version 98 and I even used it to talk to friends with my 36k modem, it worked great but when they started adding crap I said goodbye.

So far the best version of skype I ever used was the one running under linux, small gui without that crap of SHOP tabs or anything else, just the barebone program, I loved it.

If this version 4 is not gonna change I'm not going to renew my skype in/out subscription.

I have been using Skype for some years and I hated version 3.8 because it limited my option to get the contact list as slim as I want. Now I have downloaded version 4 Beta and things just got worse - much much worse!!! Now I can't have my Skype open any more as it uses a big part of the screen for nothing but waste space. I don't wan't a big blue window that tells me that "This is your concact list and here are some buttons for phones" USELESS!

I miss the option to have my contact list AS SLIM AS I WANT IT - NO LIMITATIONS - even 10 Pixels if I decide so.

Another thing is that I can't figure out is how to get it to show a conversation in a window when someone writes to me. It just "beeps" and I have to open Skype and press a button to see the message. Most of the time I miss the message for several hours because I'm not notified as the volume on my PC is turned down.

All in all this is just some of the things that would prevent the use of Skype in our company in the future. At the moment it is used by 300+ people here for phone calls and IM - but not video! In the future this will change to another system if the new Skype does not provide another interface than this new "Barbie"/teenager wanna-be look.

Hopefully they were smart enough to finally allow skins. Those old 1990's Windows 3.1 looks needs go. It's pretty sad the only customization offer is a background wallpaper which doesnt even cover the pat with the contacts list.
