It's VERY durable. The Canon has a ton of gears and grinding that goes on inside of it when the lense is zoomed in and out, and over all its just a fragile camera. I have one, and love it, but for all other reasons, I'd get the Flip. Acutally, I am getting one for around $70. I think another main thing you guys are leaving out is that the Flip has no moving parts. It’s VERY durable. I have one, and love it, but for all other reasons, I’d get the Flip.

Video editing software is very simple, b/c it doesn't have many features and I was giving macs a chance and learning both Pinnacle and I-Movie when I tested the camera and it doesn't work well with a Mac. I like the camera because it is simple and it should appeal to Mac people, it just doesn't work well with Mac's. It does work well for simple family video and with PC's and I do slightly prefer it over my digital cameras. I of course purchased the original one for only $70, so this is really not comparison with a Canon camera (nice camera's). The software that is built into the camera is very easy to use.
