Voting should be limited to people that have earned some kind of reputation for their TC comments. Otherwise, the system is going to get gamed fast.

For example, look at this one:

Serious VC’s, investors or commentators don’t post this way. Clearly a bunch of cheerleading members of mEgo or maybe even founders/family themselves.

This needs to be addressed or the voting system will have little credibility. The reputation system used on our site has made all the difference.

Its a very interesting way of allowing startups to display their work. i’ve added a video 2 days ago and its still not up yet. i’ve noticed that no new videos were added since this post was out (3rd June?).

Just wondering if the process takes time or the huge number of entries is again “limiting” the exposure factor:)?

This is a great resource for entrepreneurs all over the world! You can come up with a better idea to brand the videos, maybe a logo on top of them as other websites have. The cartoon effect isn’t pro.

After visiting the site and using it I realized that if the presentation was poor, I clicked away from the video without even voting. The good ones I watched to the end, quite captivated. Perhaps you should use the duration of viewing the video as the rating system.

VCs care more about team and marketting strategy then about the product itself.

TC Proof:

I know, half the videos you go to watch are no longer available. It is frickon annoying. Maybe they are trying to clean up their servers or something. It is my pet peeve how youtube always has thumbs for vids that they removed.

With the low vid quality and the amount of competition on the web it almost feels like they have become arrogant thinking users will just use them.

Gleb,

We live in this new exciting world where the internet is allowing us to do so many exciting things.

You see this as a tool for reaching VC’s. I see it as much more. A key element people are missing is this gives the general public a view into the process of building a successful company and pitching it to those with money. You get 60 seconds to tell the world why they should use your services and why someone should invest in you.

You are totally devaluing the marketing potential of the process. Just look at the popularity of “how to” shows and you will see a desire by people to understand what goes on beneath the veil. Are you telling me the general public won’t click through the youtube links to the site and watch these videos?

Personally it is the user I care more for than any Venture Capitalist because most of the people will have at least a beta up before they pitch and each user you have raises the value of your product. Which I believe makes it more attractive to VC’s.

Don’t take the fun out of it for the general user by making a square box and saying it has to fit in this strict format.

I think it isn’t important how enterpreners want this videos to look like.
The “customers” here are the VCs.
What this project really needs is to ask VCs what information they need and ask enterpreners to keep the videos to the plan.

Like:
1. team
2. product
3. reaching scale
4. earning money

I think it is highly needed to let enterpreners add some HTML and embed presentations together with a video so VCs can get more info.

I don’t like the cartoon effect.
I don’t care who else have done this before. It’s only important if this project will have enough VCs watching it. I think TC has a large number of VCs reading it and I would definatelly make a video for my current and future projects.
