why don't you guys mention www.predictify.com which is doing quite well and is based in Redwood city, started by two stanford students? they have lots of questions, and lots of user interest in the site and just launched with Mashable as well.

I think Pikum is a great service and this type of concept is perfectly suited to the sports market. However, is predicting the outcomes of pending news stories fun/interesting? Short term maybe but surely you'd soon get fed up with it. It may briefly capture the imagination, hopefully to a large enough degree to make the guys behind it some money but I don't really think services like this have long term potential. In my opinon they're another example of a start-up who have created a great service for a market that doesn't exist/is too niche.

I've been saying for a l-o-n-g time that Michael Arrington has an issue with judgement. This type of service will prove me right and which is why no one should use this site as anything but a gossip site unless or until they begin to get things right.

You don't mention http://www.newsfutures.com/ which has been around for years and is probably one the first companies which started doing that.
