He threatened me with legal action because he refused to pay me overtime or stat holiday pay. No joke. That was after he fired me for asking for said legally required pay.

Don’t worry kids. I got all that was coming to me and I didn’t need a lawyer.

This is a man that has temper tantrums daily, lies continually and is essentially a bully. The good press he does get is due to contacts within the media world and Daddy’s money. I watched it happen nearly everyday. I’m am disturbed and continually, sickly, amazed that the website continues to exist with very few hits and no obvious method of making money.

He was the worst boss I have ever had… certainly the most unpleasant person I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

I would like to thank the writer of the original article personally, because it needed to be said.

@Jack, #43: bang on with that comment. I know some other Canadian took offense in the comments, but what you’ve said is true. Neither of our health care systems are perfect (but if given the choice, I admit I would go with Canada’s at the moment).

@Chris: while I certainly don’t agree with 99% of your comments, I certainly do appreciate an American with so much knowledge of Canadian law, culture & politics. (Perhaps that’s just the Canadian side of me that’s just glad to be noticed by the Americans.) The reference to the Tim Horton’s at the Kandahar Airbase had me on the floor laughing.

Mike, I may be in the minority on this, but I mostly read TechCrunch via email. It would be great if the email included the bylines. Since TechCrunch is a blog, it’s authors write from the first person point of view, but without a byline, there’s no way of knowing who that person is.

The Canadian press will know what’s really going on and play the insulted victim card. Why? Because they have no real news to report on up there.

The Conrad Black trial which was not covered at all here was on the front page of every newspaper and on every TV news channel for 4 months straight up there.

When Canadians have no news, they make it up.
