Thieves protecting thieves. This kid and his father should be shipped out of the US and do us all a favor.
The picture with Branson is another form of thievery, Branson should sue the bastard!
Outsource these degenerates!

It's sad to see that Mr. Naveen Jain is allowed to run another company. First he created the nice illusion of InfoSpace telling his wonderful stories while duping millions of individuals out of their hard earned money.

Sad really, and Ankur's attempt to cover up his father's unethical business dealings is utterly pathetic.

What's worse is that not only is my last name associated with these fraudsters but my full name is the same as the fraudsters son.

There is no question in my mind that Naveen and his wife, Anu, are sociopaths. I know personally. My children were in school with their three kids at the elementary level. I could write a book about all of the nasty things they do to promote their children.

On another note, it's just ridiculous to paint all Indians with the same brush as Naveen Jain. I have many hardworking, honest, and wonderful Indian friends who are very upset with Naveen Jain and his wife, and have nothing to do with them.

The bottom line is that when a sociopath, such as Jain, gains power, the outcome is almost always chaos, corruption, and ultimately destruction.

Apparently this isn't a 'dead' subject. I just tried to purchase a $0.99 reverse cell phone number look-up and purposefully looked for the 'fine print' option before clicking through to complete the service (the big orange button still says 'yes! complete my order and also sign me up for such-and-such') and there's the tiny grey print saying 'no thanks, complete my original order.' I clicked on the tiny one to avoid the common BS add-on sell... a few minutes later I received an email thanking me for signing up for that purposely-avoided add-on and that my card would be charged accordingly each month. WOW.

Interestingly enough, they're Customer Service phone number has a recording saying they c"an't answer calls at this time, try again later." Really? These guys haven't been shut down yet???

Not too bright of me to give my card number to a site I haven't researched or am not completely familiar and comfortable with. What a shame. And a sham.

Ankur, your father is a total fraud. I too have been swindled by the great Intelius scam. I have been charged $19.95 for ten months for a service I never subscribed to. I know Naveen Jain will rot in hell, I just hope he gets hell here too.

As of May, 2009, Intelius is still as sleazy as ever. I knew nothing about them before, but now my browser keeps being hijacked by Intelius - I get to a website I googled and all of a sudden I am "re-directed" to Intelius. Of course, I get no response to my complaints. People, don't do ANYTHING financial with this dishonest group - read the horror stories.

I worked at InfoSpace during Naveen Jain's hey day and I met and spoke with him many times. I can say that after working with Naveen he is a world class self promoter and I am not surprised at the seediness of Intelius. Kevin Marcus is one of Naveen's wiz kids he took from InfoSpace to Intelius and he's just as seedy.

Intellius almost got me, but now they send you a letter before initiating the $19.95/mo charge for "24ProtectPlus" services. I'll still swear up and down, though, that I clicked "skip" when they offered the survey as bait.

I'm not a reader, but I came across your article while researching the scam and really got a kick out of it. And Ankur's (sic) reply is hilarious! Anyway, I had to visit www.naveenjain.com and thought I'd share this fantastic quote. What an amazing douchebag!

"I am not in the business to make money. I have a passion and aggression for succeeding and that's what I keep telling young people who want to be entrepreneurs. Starting a company is like having sex. We should enjoy the process and not concentrate on the end goal," Jain says.

Translation: I love the business of fucking people.

I am a recent victim of the Intelius Scam. I used intelius to do a one time reverse phone look up in January, 2009. They had a special for $0.99. There was a survey in the next page. I forgot to read the fine print. Yesterday, I checked my Amex bill and realized that they have been scamming me for $19.95 every month since January. When I called customer servce, I was put on hold for 26 minutes and then rep said it was my fault for not reading the fine print. When I raised my voice and said about SEC and better business bureau she said that they refund this month's charge only. What a scam? Buyer beware.

Fraud
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the broadest sense, a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual. The specific legal definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Fraud is a crime, and is also a civil law violation. Many hoaxes are fraudulent, although those not made for personal gain are not technically frauds. Defrauding people of money is presumably the most common type of fraud, but there have also been many fraudulent "discoveries" in art, archaeology, and science. Ok Mr. Ankur Jain the long and the short of the deal is that your Dad IS committing FRAUD and should have to pay EVERY penny back of the money that he has STOLEN from people... read the part about intentional deception. Any way you slice it your father is a criminal.

If a person wants to opt out of listing on Intelius,
they seem to claim the right to specify the terms
and require the person who wants their privacy
to send them a copy of their drivers license!
(With photo and number blocked out, but still WHY?)

And it has to be FAXED ONLY!

Why does Intelius pretend that they have a legal
right to sell or give away my information?

I've got to conform to WA law?

Screw that! I never signed their damned contract.

Therefore I am not bound by their contract.

Having a policy against misusing the info?

Get real! Stalkers and harassers are NOT
going to be intimidated by such empty comments.

And NO, I am NOT going to enter my credit card
or deposit any check, to Intelius!

If privacy is an issue, handing a financial instrument to Intelius strikes me as about
the single stupidest thing to do.

Do you REALLY believe they won't sell out
the information from the financial instrument?

And they bill this as good for consumers?

Like when they had to back off on listing all cell phones?

Has anybody ever filed a class action law suit on Intelius for the unauthorized collecting and dissemination of information, or making it
available to stalkers?

Just exactly how many other web sites
are ""partnered"" with Intelius?

Whitepages.com
USSEARCH.com

and lots of others!

To opt out I'm supposed to fax them my DL?
Conform to WA law?

If you CONTRACT with them you're stuck
with that stipulation of their contract.

I have never contracted with them.

Their ""requirements"" are law suit material.

Why not simply send them a cease and desist letter and decline further identification?

Of course Ankur would defend pop... he's the head crook's son, and he wouldn't be happy if he had to bust his ass like the rest of us unstead of living it up on our dime...he's just a bloody junior parasite.

He's got a great gig going, and doesn't want anyone badmouthing the mastermind behind it. Hell, even the credit card companies are on his side.

I contacted Intelius 3 times to cancel this garbage I signed up for, and it wasn't til I went to my Red card Visa that they acknowledged this and told me it'd be cancelled.. almost a hundred bucks after.

My Redcard informs me:

"We're sorry for any disappointment, but we can't help you with the charge from Intelius Subscription you disputed (SIC). If you have any questions about the charge, please get in touch with them directly.

Before you made your purchase, you logged into the merchants Web site (SIC) and had a change to review the purchase information and the merchant's term (SIC). By sending them your account information, you agreed to their terms. Since their terms are clear, we can't charge back your purchase to them."

hahaha. Their terms are clear?? This person writing me a professional refusal of action can't even type with proper grammar. So how many of you people who were screwed over by Intelius found their terms to be "clear"???? No where on that sign up form was ANYTHING about two recurring full price services ...only their 99 cent promotion. And since they IGNORED my first two requests to remove the BS and cancel my "subscriptions"... they are responsible for not only acknowledging me, but also refunding the purchases.. not just "you will no longer be charged" after THREE MORE charges go through.

I have had nothing but trouble from my Red Card, btw.. they freeze my account ALL the time for purchases I make that are of no deviation whatsoever from my normal spending habbits...while my other cards only due when something actually suspicious happens. They are nothing but a nightmare and not out to protect you at all. I am going to pay it off with a RESPECTABLE credit card ASAP and close that fucker down.

He’s got a great gig going, and doesn’t want anyone badmouthing the mastermind behind it. Hell, even the credit card companies are on his side.

I contacted Intelius 3 times to cancel this garbage I signed up for, and it wasn’t til I went to my Red card Visa that they acknowledged this and told me it’d be cancelled.. almost a hundred bucks after.
They charged my card for $ 19.95 at the end of dec and once again 3 days later another $ 19.95. I didnt subscribe to anything !
How about the fact that much of his information is inaccurate and no attempt is made to fix it. Anyone can claim to live anywhere, including with YOU!

I contact his site since I had collectors show up looking for some worthy who used my address and nothing was done. It was treated like a joke.

Ankur, please quit hiding on Richard Branson's private island and come to Kentucky. I want to throw your butt to the racist rednecks after I get done with you. Please bring your father too. Congratulations on being the son of a professional internet scam artist.
