Good coverage. I was a first-timer at Google I/O.

Being outside of the echo chamber (and now home safely in Boulder, CO, another home of long-haired developers), I came away with a different perspective than most of you who breathe the Google air day in and day out.

I was really impressed with the shift in focus, and their commitment to open standards, and with the philosophy of success being related to the success of 3rd party developers. Now, obviously, these developers need to come from some other community, but it's a more holistic approach to business than any other big player is making.

Although I rarely want to leave "the bubble" (aka, 37 square miles surrounded by reality), this was a great experience that left me with a very favorable view of the larger Google community.
