On that note, who would like to start a news site in our free time to compete with Mediascape? I have many ideas Tyler will never even fathom.

If you know MVC, CodeIgniter or Django, or GAE/Python and REST, or if you're a graphic designer, then please contact me at jon@langdale.ca

I worked with Tyler and Dave personally at the very beginning of what is known at Mediascape. I have to say that those that posted about him on TechCrunch in a negative way are correct. I'm suspect of the theory that they're bashing him simply because they don't like the general design of his web site. But rather that they, like me, have worked with him personally and have had a negative experience. Many former employees have been fired. I was not fired, I choose to leave early on in that endeavor specifically because of Tyler Cavell. As an experienced web developer working on web sites since the first NSCA browsers released in 1993, I found that I had no confidence in his business leadership ability or decision making for the web market. He is seriously out of touch. If Dave or someone other than Tyler was in charge, I would have stayed.

Mediascape is a good idea. The problem is it's CEO. If Tyler were to step out and hand it over to a more savy low-key executive, it wouldn't be receiving the comments it has been receiving. Tyler is the CEO and basically is the company so it becomes blurry whether you're talking about the idea and the site, or it's CEO. I wouldn't invest $2.00 in the company so long as Tyler is CEO.

I appreciate the TechCrunch's unbiased review of the company and how it pointed out some of the suspect issues with the company. In the past there has been some fluff reporting on the company. I don't think investors want to hear fluff, they most likely want to hear what goes on behind the fluff. Tyler's first mistake was entering the biosphere with his own comments when he doesn't even respect them or their opinions unless they're fluff PR pieces to help him garner investment. That is what started all this.

Michael

How about posting Do's and Dont's for startup companies wanting to be featured on techcrunch.

This will eliminate some of the mess that some of these companies end up creating in their effort to be featured on techcrunch

Hello!

Happy Saturday!

To clarify, my cousin was our second employee; I had to borrow money to meet his weekly pay cheque - We had no shareholders at that juncture.

Despite this, my cousin demanded he be paid professional Project Managment market value; my cousin had neither a diploma nor a University degree. His work experience was thin at best.

As previously mentioned, I look forward to any suggestions on our site from anyone, in particular Duncan Riley.

Of note, I have asked Duncan for sound and/or innovative input on our site because I believe that if anyone can slur an idea or Company that they must have alternative ideas or other forms of positive participation.

Best,

Tyler

@chris: I bet when you where in elementary school the french Canadians kicked your ass or something because you evidently have some hate issues

@techcrunch: do you guys ever moderated comments? it seems to me that explicitly referring to a group of people as little Hitler (@41) is a very bad connotation.
