Get the iPod!! I am a pc but I use safari and iPod and iTunes. They are way better than MS junk, er software!

Ever since I downloaded microsoft service pack 3. My Zune would not work. I was fine a few minutes ago. took out spk3. now zune wont dlownload without it. Microsoft sucks Zune sucks. I/m getting an IPOD. It never was about the money. zune looked cool. Ipods were too trendy. Hello Ipod

Anpther thing is that the iPod was surprisingly easy to fix, the headphone jack was starting to get screwy so I cracked open my iPod to see if fucking with it would fix it, I broke the connecting ribbon and then ordered a new headphone jack, unscrewed the old jack, put the new one in and that was it, doesn’t really matter to the average consumer but I thought it was cool.

That said, the wireless sync on the zune over my wifi network is really cool. I do like plugging in the zune to charge and initiating a wireless sync without having to leave it plugged into my laptop.

Zune desktop app is the worst thing I can imagine, but I rarely am forced to use it so works out ok for me.

In other words, the game is over. People already like what the iPod does and the way it works. People like their iPods. Not many people are complaining about them. So, you’re not going to get the majority of people to buy something else that does not work like an iPod, even if you add a new feature or two.

I’d usually hold Erick’s articles in fairly high regard, but I can’t really defend this. This really doesn’t look good alongside Gillmor’s incoherent anti-Microsoft rant from a few days ago.

I have seen the iPods, never really used them. They’re slick, but for my purposes are overpriced. The Zune does what it does well and so far is the only player that I know of offering a subscription model. Sure that’s not everyone’s choice, but $15/month to listen to whatever I want to or $10 for a single album makes a difference for some. If you’re going to spend that money anyway, I’d lean towards that $15/month just to have access to whatever you want to listen to. (And yes – DRM, Subscriptions, blah blah – I understand that they’re not for everyone and that you don’t actually own the music – kind of like netflix.)

I did find it kind of sad that this is newsworthy considering the above poster mentioning that GameStop doesn’t sell iPods either. Personally, I go to Gamestop for Games and possibly a DVD if they have a decent deal. For media players I look elsewhere.

I agree, I have had a Zune since they were first introduced in November of ‘06. I had several iPods previously but they had either broken or were scratched to the point where I didn’t like to carry it outside.

My Zune’s are so much more durable and I love the Wi-Fi. I think it’s mostly people who have no idea what they’re talking about who have the most to say against the Zune. However, owners of the Zune are some of the most loyal customers for any brand.
