@Mayur - from what I can tell, you can use their widget freely, which is useful to content publishers.

However, I don’t think they have opened up their mythical API, which was leaked late last year, presumably as a vaporous response to Facebook’s announcement.

By API, I am referring to service-oriented access to their treasure trove of people and company data.

The LinkedIn widget appears to run a search for individual words in the business name rather than the entire string. This is less than ideal because as a result it is saying that someone works in my company who actually doesn’t and that could cause a number of foreseeable issues.

Mike, if you get the chance, please feed this back to them - I’m sure you don’t want Crunchbase misleading people. Thanks.

Very cool. Big fan of crunchbase and LinkedIn. Here is my typical scenario: I find a job opening that I like, look them up on crunchbase and see if I’m connected to any of the executives via LinkedIn. Now it is all together. Thanks Arrington and team.

I’ll prepare it and send you all the original emails and the ones from the lawyer. I am a little worried that some of these people are insane and paranoid and that they would think of physically hurting me in reaction to this.

I wasn’t going to use their actual names, but I can’t prevent you from doing so. I hope you use some kind of judgement if you publish a story based on this.

Also, Facebook hired 2 foreign security goons to come after me after I published that I wanted to sell my social search here. If you want to let me have a blog post Mike, I can write about it in detail.
I cc’d emails to each other to determine that they were fake, then I lead them on a wild goose chase.
