What about a bridge that has a large MRU cache mapping users to followers. An incoming tweet is transformed into an email with the author&#039;s followers on the CC list. The tweet is then enqueued on a large email system.

The same thing happens on the outgoing side only replace SMTP with POP or IMAP. The email gets transformed back into a tweet and is sent on to the requester.</description>
