We’re fast approaching our super fun CrunchNetwork Prague Meet-up and getting ready for the big night. We’re going to have some surprises coming up so watch this space but until then feel free to RSVP by email or on Facebook.
Remember the event is on Friday, May 23, 2008 from 7pm until ?? at Restaurace Zvonařka.
The program will be fairly basic but I’m planning an elevator pitch face-off, allowing 10 start-ups the chance to do a 2 minute presentation to the entire audience using limited tools. We’ll then pick the best pitch and that team will get an as-yet-to-be-undetermined really great prize (think Macbook). If you’re interested in participating, please contact Jack DeNeut at jack @ nelso dot com.
Start-up folks: If you have something you want to discuss with me for consideration on TechCrunch, MobileCrunch, or CrunchGear, please have a paper presentation handy with a detailed description of your project — powerpoint and business plans are right out. Consider creating a press-release for the event that I can read over and discuss with you later this month.
Special thanks to all these sponsors:

Nelso – Multi-language local search for Europe

Geewa – Multiplayer games for PC and mobile

Newstin – Connecting people through news to create global communities
of interest

Wirenode – Simple-to-use tools that allow anyone to create a mobile website

GoodData – A complete, on-demand business intelligence platform

Ataxo – More from your SEM campaigns!

Mike Arrington, can you please approve my last comment here. Orrick, Herrington and Suttcliffe, Facebook’s legal council are sending me C&Ds because they misunderstood what I wrote. They think that we spidered their data. We only spidered and cataloged public data that’s available without a log in. We made a spider for orkut and their site but never used it because of the TOS.
Somebody from the Facebook company is apparently trying to attack us, and we would like it to stop.
Tech crunch is all over the world!. Good job guys. I sincerely hope all the best for Mike Arrington and all of you. I am a jerk sometimes, but I am really pulling for you guys.

Please check the last comment on this thread as I have clarified.
To anyone that was upset by my selling our social search engine and IP, please read the last comment I posted on the thread. I have an email box full of people interested, C&Ds and letters written by people without a clue who made a lot of stuff up.
Please go by the facts and not what you make up in your own head. You guys need to stop posing as people and come out and inquire about our product if you want to avoid problems with damaging us. We know fakes from the real deal by electronic means. We know serious inquiries from those investigating.
Please stop as we are a legitimate company trying to sell our search.
We consider any and all actions as liable for damages and we have recorded them all.
Thank you and we are still open to offers.
This was in reference to Orji’s selling our intellectual property, trademarks and search engine software.
Again, thanks to TC, and keep up the great work. Had I not had the huge response, I would not have felt the need to make this comment here. Some people really need to get a clue.
John,
How long are you in Prague for?
It would be great to get some time to talk – we’ll get a paper presentation sorted.
Looking forward to the pitch face-off… my laptop’s held together with masking tape so we have to win!
might go, how many people?
