According to the guy I bought it from, I got a big discount. But when I got home and tried to turn it on, nothing happened. It just said "Recharge Batttery", whatever that means. So I paid a guy walking down the street yelling at trees $200 to fix it for me. He said he would take it to his house and fix it there and then mail it to me when it was done, and that I didn't need to give him my address because he was psychic and would just read his toast to find it out. (I didn't know you could do that!) Anyway, for some reason I never saw him again. Weird, right? So I just gave up on the whole cellphone thing and bought a 5-ton PC, which I now carry around on my back everywhere I go, and a reeeeeaaaaally long extension coord to keep it plugged in, so now I can read TechCrunch on-the-go! But now I'm broke. In fact, when I went to buy those tickets, they confiscated my credit card... and my house... and my car... and my celebrity-shaped earwax collection. Something about me owing the government "$12 billion in taxes". (I wonder what a "tax" is? It sounds French... and peanutty.) And that's why I can't pay for those tickets myself. But I desperately need to get a new job to afford these kids, and just maybe networking at the conference would both teach me some thing (making me more marketable) and allow me the opportunity to find that new job!
