As someone who watched amusingly from the sidelines while this idea was being put together, I can definitely second the fact that the post was unsolicited, and mainly, these guys worked hard on their baby and were just delighted to find out about this blog post.

we created the video in one afternoon for the barcelona startup2.0 competition.
we used michael case against face book for the competition video, because we knew it will be femiliar to most of the people in the industry and it will help us explain quicker in the video, what AllRise is all about.

michael did not give any exclusive access to AllRise, he took the screen shots from the video we present at http://www.allrise.com. this is the reason the screen shot in his post is fuzzy, u can easly verify it.

we did not know about the post here until we saw a huge amount of people starting to arrive to our site.

we are now allwoing access to certain amount of people for the private alpha, u are welcome to experince it for yourself.

the inspiration came from two events. a very big public trial that took place in my country, we could see that there is a huge void for people to express there opinion regarding that trial. it was all controlled by the general media.

the second thing was, that personally i allways enjoy a good debate, but i could find a platform that was good enough to do it properly. comments on the bottom of a thread isnt good enough.

our vision for allrise is to be used as a platform, so anyone can use it the way he thinks he needs to: advice, entertainment, debating, stress relief and etc…

regarding the “community police”, we have a few ideas and plans on this matter, but it is too early to discuss it at the moment.

What was your inspiration for creating it? Do you see it as a place where people may get quasi legal advice or at very least create interesting discussions? Do you envision having the community police other users in cases of abuse (read bored trolls with a chip on their shoulder)?

Hat off to you for going for it - it takes courage to move forward with your ideas and I hope it is a huge success.

I know how difficult and time consuming video production can be, especially when you are getting started. I’m not intending to be overly critical of the actual video. It is what it is and you will learn to do better.

The damaging dilution of your brand inflicted by your haphazard choice of a media outlet is the problem that needn’t exist and can be fixed in less than an afternoon. (It is 11:30 AM in San Francisco, I will check back at 5 PM - I dare you to do your firm a favor and fix this.)

the fact it is presented the way it is, is due to some circumstances we could not fully control, those affected the video, the background music and its presentation.

One of Mike’s links went to an all rise page. The video didn’t play, but I did see headlines in the top of the player about Matt’s frustration about *rg@sms and c*nd*ms. Then something about s*x tapes.

So I tried another link that went to sclipo. The video played but sclipo superimposed ads on the lower screen for marriage counseling and such.

Since my first attempt to view the clip primed my head for s*x I couldn’t escape the feeling that the background music for their video reminded me of a p*rn tape. (Not that I watch them)

Is there anything more basic than careful messaging? So sloppy. Not inspiring for a team that wants to help spread justice.
