So it;s just another free email service that uses pop3? Oh and also has a few widgets to let you logon to Facebook etc.

Sorry, trying to see value in this service. You can use GTD in gmail and if they really want to appeal to the widest possible audience, support Gmail apps. My domain name email that I use in Gmail apps isn't supported.

I don't use a Hotmail, Yahoo or AOL email address for client work and no one else should either.

@5thumbs:basic security is no "rough edge":
It's pretty easy to program a "delete"-function,unless you want to do it the Facebook-way:THERE you can delete everything except your account,BUT NOTHING IS EVER DELETED REALLY ON THEIR SERVERS:YOU JUST CAN'T SEE IT ANYMORE!(as they admitted....later)
A reliable Email-service MUST have a TRUE delete-function FOR EMAIL,and an option TO WIPE THE WHOLE ACCOUNT FROM THE SERVERS HARDDISKS!

By the way, Henry C., they will be offering the purge deleted function but they're making sure they get it right. That's according to their support forums. Zenbe is still in beta phase so there are rough edges :)

What's the catch on Zenbe- FREEmail?
Maybe this:
you CANNOT PERMANENTLY DELETE ÁNY EMAIL that ever arrives or flows through these mailservers!
Only "someone" with unlimited resources would hire expensive highly secured multi-terabyte servers in Dallas,Texas to
offer a FREE mailservice that remembers EVERYTHING (not only all your passwords-updates,but even all your spam!)FOREVER!
Think TWICE!

I WANT THIS ON MY OWN SERVER, the companies i work with have gmail on their own account with their own domain, it's not the best thing in the world as they tell me.

Why can't they let us download this and use it on our own domain, you can lock the files so that you can put your own ads in it... i don't care but it has to work on my server with with my @domain.com

Did a little test run with zenbe and I'm hooked :) I have to agree with #47, folders would be nice, or another way to segregate mails originating from other accounts.

My first impressions on zenbe: http://5thumbs.wordpress.com/reviews/zenbe-webmail/

The zenpages are very interesting. It's a step up from Gmail. I just wish they (anyone) would give us folders. I just wrote about my experience on my blog here... http://webpoet.wordpress.com/2008/04/30/seven-seven-49b/
