In March we wrote a preliminary list of the people Microsoft will propose as alternate board of directors in the event their acquisition efforts go hostile.

See our recent interview with Citi analyst Mark Mahaney who discusses the probable outcomes to Microsoft’s effort.

Microsoft is proposing ten new board members, plus two alternates (here’s the current board members they would replace).

The original list (we now believe Tom Freston was incorrect and has been removed):

We’re now adding the following individuals to that list based on new sources of information:

yeah… they’re so eminently qualified to understand Web 2.0/3.0 and search/paid search… is this a joke?

If you think that these guys are one day really going to put the heat on Google - go read here.

Yahoo as a puppet company will be a joke. Investors should sell now.
Thanks to Yahoo for putting YUI on sourceforge before it was too late.

If anybody from Yahoo is reading, mess everything up before you leave.
You have no more responsibility to investors in this type of situation. Investors should know to sell at this point.

Building a monopoly is not illegal. Just maintaining it. Apple & Google, join forces. This could be an open web nightmare forming. Microsoft, user centric does not refer strictly to the CIO’s of Fortune 500 companies. You are dealing with USERS now. Please hire a CUO Chief User Officer. He needs to have power to veto even the board and CEO combined.

Sorry, meant to say he/she needs to have the power to veto.

next acquisition for MS will be fox entertainment (myspace) next generation of social networking is around the corner, and most of you have missed the boat. Stop standing in the way of the future Yahoo, you can’t do this on your own

this board is only has to be in place to vote for a merger and then they’re out.

These new “Yahoo board” is full of fossils and old farts.

IMO Microsoft is up to no good if they think they will lead THE takeover of the 21st century with them.
