Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. We at Marvel have discovered that the David Althoff who sent the CAD is not the REAL David Althoff, but a SKRULL who has been sent to disrupt the opening of IRON MAN.

You can read all about the SKRULL SECRET INVASION happening now at: http://www.marvel.com/comics/Secret_Invasion

Please go ahead with your screening. Enjoy the film.

Tony Stark is real pissed and will be dealing with this Skrull personally.

Best,

Ira

Y'know, it's right there at the top of the page: 917K subscribers. That's the equivalent of a good-sized newspaper circulation. How would they have approached a daily paper with a million readers? How many papers even *have* a million readers in these days of decline?

See, that's the thing. These studio goon squads are dispatched to threaten websites every day, but they have no idea what these sites are, they just send their little letters threatening lawsuits. Then they run up against a site like TechCrunch, that actually has lawyers, too! GASP! Now what do they do? They back down, is what they do. Paramount, Lionsgate, Marvel etc are so used to be able to pull their Big Corporate Bully Tactics on small sites that they think they can do it to pretty much everyone now. HA! Way to go, TechCrunch. You guys rock.

Another way to protest would be to buy a ticket to ANOTHER movie and go see Iron Man instead (assuming you still want to see it) by sneaking in...

This way they don't see any of the $ or ticket sales numbers but you still get to see your movie.

I wouldn't advise doing this near opening night as the theatre would be full and you'd be hurting innocent people by stealing their seat.

Instead wait a few days and do it on off hours.

I've done this before..... Works great.
