Okay okay I will give it a try ;). I removed xobni from my computer several months ago because I couldn´t work with it, but this sounds too interesting to ignore it. BUT it will have to be very good to overwhelm my new search tool (lookeen I love it).

Very cool stats on social networks and data - I like the visualization but the site does need to cater to other sections of mail such as perhaps, gmail and other mail servers? Another thing, MSN hotmail needs to open its doors to exporting mail for the users as well as allowing users to send mail through packages such as gmail or outlook.

I see a bright future for this and I feel as though an integration of Google adsense may bid the future of this company very well.

@pffft: The metrics aren't very useful unless you work in a sales team. But the "dashboard" access to recent files and emails with various contacts saves a lot of time vs. having to dig through past emails via search or sorting. I never thought of having something like this for Outlook but after using it, I'm wondering why MS never developed a sidebar like this for Outlook.

I used Xobni for a while and frankly I didn't see the value. Certainly the information was interesting, but I didn't find myself doing much with it. And it didn't seem worth the performance hit (which, at the time, was significant - they may have tweaked it to be better).

I'm not saying it doesn't have potential - but what am I supposed to do with the information it generates?

We upped the limit to 1000, due to a big response. So there should be enough to go around for the next couple of hours.

I have been using Xobni for a few months now (thanks TC!) Even though I hate Outlook plugins because they considerably slow down Outlook, I just cant do without Xobni anymore.. This news makes me wish I still used Y! Mail still. However I would love and be willing to pay for Gmail integration like this..

Building a outlook plug-in is definitely a smart move for Xobni. I can see corporates using outlook for many years to come, even as we move into a SaaS model for email. They are in the sweet spot with the MS-Yahoo merger.
