agree with Jez. The screencast of the site is way more impressive then the actual site. Interface is horrible, inconsistent and toxic. Yet, I’m not a 12 year old girl….

This is horrible. I actually find it unpleasant to use. I think I started hating it when I realised that, on the login form, pressing TAB after entering my email address didn’t move to the password field, it went somewhere else. That’s pretty basic stuff.

If you’ve got a rubbish product that’s easy to use, or a good product that’s hard to use, or even a good product that’s easy to use, you’re onto something. This is none of these things.

In German, interesting idea but I don’t understand the need? There are so many web apps that may help you create a site as well as the open source movement and the widget frameworks available out there for the creation of widgets. Is this site’s model mainly advertising?

I don’t see myself using this either. Maybe more for the myspace crowd thing.
Not that there is not a market for this, I’m just not part of it I guess.

Who are these products for? Do people actually have a entry level website design and development problems? Myspace, Blogger, Ning, Wordpress, Dreamweaver, etc…. Everyone I meet wants a unique presence on the web based on standards. Not a weird template based proprietary website. That market is well served.

Just because you have the means to build something doesn’t mean you should bet the farm on it. Maybe it can be useful to kids — but all the tweens can figure out MySpace code so I think this is beneath them as well. Cool. But I doubt it will catch on.

Looks like a good product but I can’t even complete registration. First, it complained that my username was too short. After fixing that issue, it’s saying that I need to enter my birthdate. But that’s already entered, and even after re-typing it the same error message prevents me from signing up.

You have to wonder about a company that can’t get the bugs out of signup. (If anyone is reading these message, my platform is Win XP – FF 2)

Setting aside matters of the German language , this is probably the best looking online application I have ever seen.

I just started looking into it a few hours ago, and am amazed both by the design and the diversity of it.

Am planning on making my first ever website with it tonight.

The UI is a horrible mess, javascript errors abound, and I can’t get even the simplest of links to work as expected.

Even the login form has mysterious fields appear when trying to tab between form fields.

I want to like this, but it’s just too dreadful yet for serious consideration. Maybe MySpace users can find something to like…

Doesn’t this constitute prior art on the WiX name for the programming and internet services class of trademark?

I’m not a fan of Microsoft, but in all fairness, they used the mark in commerce for computers and web way first.
