[...] Web site ReviewGist gathers the results of expert reviews from around the web to give you a better understanding of the pros and cons of a potential purchase. Aside from its deep analysis, which dives into the nuts and bolts of what a reviewer liked and disliked about a product, ReviewGist also provides a great comparison tool to check the ratings of similar products side-by-side. While a lot of people tend to stick to the consumer reviews on the site they’re purchasing from, like Amazon, ReviewGist looks like a great place to check out the broader merits of a product before making a big purchase.
Hey http://bjthelabmonkey.com not only reviews products but gives them away as well. Not your typical review site...I know (shameless plug) although Loudervoice is interesting but I didn't find much content. Good looking site all the same.

As i understand, Omgili just searches and shows comment. stupid.
wize is very good and shows wize rank.
reviewgist shows review aggregation and competitive analysis.

I get the point, i guess an average consumer would really be happy with Wize Rank. Yup, some might want to dig further on individual features.
Nice.

This site will only be as good as the reviews that are available to them. Unfortunately, I find that many of the existing sites out there with product reviews (CNET, ConsumerReports, etc) are woefully behind when it comes to staying current with products available on the market. Case in point, I purchased a 52" Sony Bravia LCD and was not able to locate a review using this site. I think this site is a good starting point, but I think audiences can be led to believe the site is a one stop shop for aggregating all reviews for all available products that are available on the market.

Andrew, I agree to you that having presence in the US is good for getting traction. We do correspond almost regularly with people living in the US and specifically in the valley to get their inputs in - Parts of our interface were done by a very talented student from stanford.

Also, we do plan to set up some presence in the US pretty soon.

How come you never covered Omgili? They have reviews section (where they aggregate reviews and sentiment from multiple sites), not talking about the discussion search on millions of forums/mailinglists/newsgroups, reviews and QnA sites...
I did a search on Techcrunch - not one word...
Also apparently they are quite big, so they must be doing something good :)

Actually, 50% positive is a sentiment scale - not based on the total number of reviews, but actually on a much detailed analysis based partly on :
1. The total number of opinions expressed in the reviews.
2. The nature of opinions - ranging from extremely positive to extremely negative.
3. The aspect/part of the product being talked about in the opinion - eg. is the opinion talking about the image capabilities of a camera(more important) or is it talking about the battery life (less important).

Interesting ... i like the bar graph interface. Thats something which impresses me. i can easily make out ... How Sony DSC H9 compares me Canon S5 on picture quality.

The colors need some work, everything seems just blue.

PS: I bought DSC H9 :(

So far I always get irritated by review and comparison sites showing up when I search for a gadget in google. Usually it turns out that there are actually no reviews for what I am looking for and the ones that are there are unspecific hate or love comments. To top it off the price comparison directs me to some obscure retail site that I've never heard off and that doesn't have the item in stock.
Let's hope that this will be a real innovation over the above experience.

PS Just eating a toast with Nutella and wanted to spare you that sight, otherwise I would have done it as a video *smile
