Nice to see that they won’t raise the price but when can Microsoft go back to basics developing C# + ASP.NET, fixing Vista and buying those 20 startups / year for the next five years? Yahoo is a distraction, either buy it or don’t but keep moving forward.

It wasn’t a bad quarter, pretty good actually, regardless of how fanboys spin it. Clearly they need Yahoo, MSN isn’t performing, but the success with Xbox should remind people that Microsoft is one of the few technology companies that has the determination to stick with something till they make it work.

ms is doing everything right. Yahoo doesnt seem to want to make a deal, so a proxy battle will happen.

Earnings dont matter much because the earnings dont change the fact that yahoo has about 20% of search engine market share, combine that with MS 9-10% and you have a lucrative challenger to google for search advertisements.
